Breguet 3237 wrist watches news:
Please enjoy the following post by Chris Meisenzahl. He is a long-time watch enthusiast and daily Speedmaster Pro wearer. He blogs at amateureconblog.blogspotwatches-dealer/ and can be followed on Twitter at twitterwatches-dealer/speedmaster.Last week auction house Antiquorum wrapped-up their recent March auction of "Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces¡± in Geneva. When it was complete the auctions had raised CHF 6,457,937. 83% of the 564 timepieces up for auction were sold. Below are a few of the notable highlights from the auction. The highlight of the auction, at least as it was touted by Antiquorum, was a private collection of 33 erotic timepieces. That collection by itself was sold for 719,200 CHF, twice what had been officially estimated. The "Musique d'Amour" (lot 187) (seepic here, NSFW) is in addition to being of the erotic variety, is also a musical watch and offers two automaton scenes. It was created by Genevan watchmaker Henry Capt circa 1810. I wonder if he was an anc
Now, bear in mind that I am not a professional so this image (yes I even admit it) needs professional help. But I like the idea behind it. So I hope you'll see the point. And do not worry about hurting my feelings if you need to laugh. ;):)My idea for the "2663" is that it would be:42mm (tomatoes now!).It would be a chronometer but without SCOC on the dial (more tomatoes). The crystal would be dual-AR coated sapphire but domed like the vintage plexi-crystals.SEL on the bracelet with the new Rolex patented Glidelock clasp. The bezel would retain the black insert but the numbers/markers would be cut out to fit the SS numbers/markers formed on the bezel. The case back would have an engraved coronet.I would keep the bracelet a full 22mm width.A second strap would come as standard. An official Rolex regimental strap.Superluminova would be heavily applied. Thanks for looking. ~JB
I know this might become a mess of a thread, but I have to ask........What is everyones cost/value break point when it comes to watches? When are you just paying for a brand as opposed to the actual intrinsic value of a watch. I just bought a Hamilton for well under $1000, it has a Swiss movement that with proper care will outlive me. It has extremely solid steel construction, a sapphire crystal, in my opinion looks fantastic and is keeping time to within +7 a day. Why in God's name would I pay more for a watch? I was talking to a local watchmaker in my city the other day and he was apoplectic regarding Tag Heuers. He basically said he couldn't believe that people fall for the hype regarding the brand and claimed you could purchase a Tissot with exactly the same movement at less than half the price of the Tags. Or course he was telling me all this while wearing a Rolex.So......Where is the value in a Rolex or Breitling (or insert Brand)? An additional 4 seconds of accuracy? Is that wor
So just went there today for fun to just look around and could not ignore but to try them on :)image.jpg
Hi Guys : Dipping my toes into Patek and specifically the 5980R. Being offered at 52K from a AD with my name on the papers. Good deal or I can do better. Also would love to know your thoughts on the piece. I'm coming from AP so like the bigger sizes. Will this 40MM wear too small ? Please advise. Pic for reference :
