Breguet 5327ba/1e/9v6 wrist watches news:
Christie’s Geneva sale of important watches generated an impressive $21,099,940, far exceeding the pre-sale high estimate of about $15.8 million. Nearly 370 watches were offered with 96% selling by value and by lot. The sale included “A Connoisseur’s Vision, Part II”, and along with the “Connoisseur’s Vision Part I” group offered this past November, the two sales represent the most important private Patek Philippe collection ever offered at auction, and the most expensive collection ever sold. The sale set an attendance record with 831 bidders from 5 continents. An additional 250 bidders participated online. The top lot in the sale, number 84, was a unique Patek Philippe ref. 1527 perpetual calendar chronograph with moon phases produced in 1943, and at $5,708,833, it set a world record for any yellow gold watch ever sold at auction. The top 5 lots are pictured belowmenting on the sale, Aurel Bacs, International Co-Head of Christie’s Watch
I never thought the fat hands and maxi dial could make such a difference. I always loved the aesthetic difference...but wasn't 100% sold on it being a truly functional upgrade vs. a cosmetic one. I am now a believer!!! Anyway, I got a little crazy with the lume shots last night. I love how the RRR on the rehaut lights up from the maxi dial's hour plots! You'll also note about an 8 sec shutter speed :)Couple in the light of day:And for extra credit...can anyone name the other two in this pic?
Anyone else find themselves drawn to a certain watch in your collection but still feel an obligation to give the others wrist time so they won't feel slighted? Every Sunday is my rotation day. I switch watches and wear that one for a week. The only problem, every time I go to my watch winder I want to pick up the Day-Date and wear it every day. If I did that, the other watches would just sit there. I mean, I like the other watches, but I still feel myself drawn to the Day-Date. Anyone else ever struggle with this dilemma?
This may seem like a ridiculous thread but I have a few questions about AP as I am completely new....1. Can someone tell me where to buy straps for a ceramic diver that are AP brand as well as non AP brand (reputable high quality)2. How does one change the straps on these watches? Also is there any difference in the movement between the Ceramic diver and the non ceramic diver (full stainless steel model) Thank you in advance for your help!
Any theories on why Rolex doesn't put non-metal bracelets on SS watches? They save leather and oysterflex straps for PM watches. A Sub or GMT would like great on oysterflex, and DJ 41 would like great on leather.
