Breguet 5207ba/12/9v6 wrist watches news:
Hi all!I have acquired an interesting reissue Boulton (the earlier Boulton), maybe from the 1980's? It's significantly larger than the original Boulton (I own a Boulton II). It's a curious mix because it has the vintage Hamilton "H" logo on the crown (the one from the late 50's into the 60's), but the caseback looks similar to the later Registered Edition, but it says "Limited Edition 1215". Also, it has a typical Swiss Hamilton band, but the buckle has the 60's period "HAMILTON" in italics on the back.I've attached some pictures if anyone can help. It has a Swiss manual movement, and while I don't have a pic yet it says "Hamilton Watch Co, Lancaster PA" and cal. 304, Swiss 17J.Thanks in advance!IMAGE_664.jpgIMAGE_666.jpgIMAGE_665.jpgIMAGE_668.jpgIMAGE_667.jpg
You may recall this thread where we broke down the COSC certificate and it's meaning:Horology 101 - deciphering a COSC certificateLater we tested that Tiffany's Mark SS Coupe watch to see how it really performed:Horology 101: COSC vs. real world testingWell, after some more great service at Tiffany's in Center City, Philadelphia I have some pleasing results! I dropped off the watch for regulation (free of charge) it came back to me running like this:Pretty darn good in my estimation - averaging -0.82 seconds a day is phenominal......but we're not done yet. No, because I'm crazy. .....or so my watchmaker says, and probably a few of you also. Well, I took it to Sam and told him it runs a little slow and asked if we can try an experiment on the timing machine. He replied "Sure, but you realize you're insane for messing with those kind of results." After I agreed, he tweaked the watch so a brief run on the timing machine showed it gaining in all positions. Here's the amazing part: t
Got to thinking, what's the watch / style of watch you always think to yourself about adding but just never do? And not because of what the price is. What's that one or two styles or watch that you always tell yourself you'll get, but never makes it into the collection for one reason or another? For me there's 2, the Breitling Navitimer (or any of the Navitimer line) and a true pilot's watch (flieger style), such as a Big Pilot, Stowa, Tourby, etc. I don't know why, but while I continue to tell myself I want one of these in the stable, they just don't get in the doors What's yours?
Hi guys, I am offered to pay additional usd 15k to give my rubber 5167 to steel 5712. Both used from 2015. I think it is a bit a lot. I would feel more comfortable to pay usd 12k. What do you think? Do it and at what price or not?
Hi All,I had purchased a brand new double sealed 5711 from an AD in London not too long ago and had the bracelet resized at the AD.However, a couple of days later i noticed scratches on the link closest to the watch case - it looks as though something has run sharply against it. Upon closer inspection, I noticed another two of these types of scratches in between the very small gaps in the links i.e. on the top of the polished center link.I am confused as to how these could have gotten there. What type of tool does a watchmaker use to remove these pins as i can not think of any other explanation other than some carelessness in removing the links and the watchmaker somehow managed to get the tip of the tool perfectly in between the links to scratch them from the top.Sometime has passed now since i bought the watch however these scratches are still bothering me because they were not caused by myself and given where they are, i worry that even during routine servicing (and polishing) it wi
