Breguet 7337BB/1E/9V6 wrist watches news:
One big reason to love vintage watches is because they tell us stories – they seem to represent the soul of their former owners, who trusted and loved their timepieces and wore them through thick and thin. In this regard, this chronograph from Rolex not only embodies an amazing life of both tragedy and heroism – it's a symbol of bravery and dedication to freedom as well. 1 OF 9 The Rolex depicted here is a reference 3525 chronograph from the 1940s, with antimagnetic properties. The reference 3525 was also famous as a Prisoner Of War watch, made available to captured Allied officers during the Second World War, as we covered here. Watches were made available to Allied POWs by many brands but Rolex is one of the best known for this service, and the 3525 chronograph was a solidly made, high visibility wrist-instrument with a Valjoux 23 column wheel chronograph movement and radium dial that would have been a both a welcome little luxury and a useful tool. Greetings, all, I've been lurking on this forum for some days, and thought it was high time to join. I'm a fairly new watchmaker, (WOSTEP and CW21 certifications) and my education mostly revolved around high-end Swiss watches. However, as a self-confessed history nut, and an American, I find the allure of vintage American timepieces to be irresistible. I've received the impression that among the American companies of yesteryear, Hamilton was the highest quality, and that of their wristwatch movements, the 770 and 982M were the best. I'm looking for a wristwatch to wear for dress occasions, and, not being able to afford the Patek Philippe or Jaeger that my watchmaking friends salivate over, it strikes me that a vintage Hamilton would be ideal. ;) So, to my question: did Hamilton make a solid gold round watch with either the 770 or 982M movements? Currently, the only one I've come across is the Masterpiece of the late '50s (or so the style appears to me.) I like it, but hoped for somethi
I was reading the WSJ today and there was an ad for a Breitling Diver. Is this something new? I never cared for Breitling much, but this was decent looking.
I have been wanting this watch since I first saw it released. After finally deciding to pull the trigger, who else but DavidSW to provide
Hey everyone,I'm sure this is a question I could answer by simply going to a jewelry store and weighing each (since I have both in my possession) but I was curious if anyone knew. They feel seem to feel about the same...almost as though the rubberclad is a tad heavier. I was interested to see if anyone knew. Thanks in advance!Best,Carlos
