Breguet 5827BR/Z2/9Z8 wrist watches news:
Greetings Everyone! As a relative "newbie" in watches, esp. vintage watches, I am wondering how often a vintage watch should be brought in for servicing, timing etc.I have a Sidney and soon to arrive Dexter ( courtesy of HandyDan ! ) and want to know if the service intervals are different then their more modern counterparts, say 3-5 years. BTWI baby all my watches, even my Boschett Diver...never seen water...cept for a light rain lol!BestBob
I have to say I did love my no date sub before flipping for a Daytona . But this omega I have enjoyed more than I did the sub.
Ever since I acquired my 36mm Railmaster, I've been thinking about obtaining another Omega. After much consideration and research, I decided so seek out a Seamaster 300M GMT (2234.50) with the 1128 movement. I got a great deal on a brand new one from an out-of-state AD (save sales tax ) and it will be next Wednesday. The AD told me that the 2234.50 and others are being discontinued. Is that correct? Is Omega going to settle on the blue dial Bond GMT (which I don't care for)? Or, are they going to come out with a GMT built around the 8500 movement . . . that should be pricey. Hey, how about a few wrist shots of the Seamaster 300M GMT (black dial) in action.
Heres a nice near mint piece i won off ebay tonight, a 1950's second generation semaster calender, with its original ss bracelet which is rare and its orginal box.. even rarer!! (sellers pics) i really like the thick lugged semasters of the 1950's and can be still had for a bargain... $450 for this one!!!will go well with may first generation semaster calender with date at 6pm.. i actually prefer this date configuration and pity more manufacturers dont make them like this..
I just had a question about polishing I find that the clasp on my 11 6 7 10 Ln is starting to thin out I'm talking about the center part of the clasp the mirror finish part of it it's been polished a few times and Rolex CanadaMy question is how many times are you able to polish the clasp before you have to replace it and what is the price of a clasp I mean if it's an insignificant amount 3 or 4 hundred I'd have no issue just replacing it on my next service
