Hi-I am new to this forum. Just got my first Hamilton today - Jazzmaster chrono H32646555, silver face with rose gold case. It is a great looking watch. I have two questions1) When I came home and saw the watch in full light, I noticed that the gold plating on #2 mark in the dial is very slightly eroded. What is the durability of the gold plating in these watches ? If I scratch the case, would the stainless steel underneath show ?2) The leather band adjusted to the last hole is still loose on my hand. Is there a way to tighten the band further (i.e) beyond the last hole ?Thanks in advance for your help.. I hope to enjoy this nice watch for years..

In an endless sea of PANERAI SEs, it can sometimes be pretty hard to choose what your first SE may look like. Yes, I want that elusive 382 and while the pull of 368 remains strong, the only other in my wish list had been the Radiomir 449 ever since it was announced. Quandary
I am in a bit of a quandary on what to do about a potential watch swap. I know this is not the vintage side put I would like to field for a opinions over here because I am not typically a vintage watch guy.Several years ago my father whom is still around gave his late 70's Submariner 5513 to my brother who has since passed. The watch went to my young niece who has no interest in it other than it was her dads and she knows I'm nuts about it.I now have the opportunity to put it into my collection. It should be a for a fair price is all original has box and papers with a very certain history. Now the question. What are your thoughts on selling my 14060M no box and papers to partially fund it? I generally don't like to fund a watch with a watch but i really don't need or desire to have two such similar watches. U.S. ADs selling pre-owned above MSRP
An AD that I visit has a small pre-owned section and happened to have a (essentially new) hard to find watch there sold at a mark-up consistent with grey market prices. This particular model was explained as a 2 week old trade in that still appeared to have the stickers on it. Now, I don’t blame them for selling the watch at prevailing market, but in theory, they could basically just put a friends name on the warranty card declare it used, and now sell at the higher price.Not sure if this something Rolex would have a problem with, but just curious how everyone else’s ADs are responding to these secondary market prices we’ve seen over the last year+?
