Breitling E65062 wrist watches news:
Spotlight on vintage Longines so far. The more I shoot with natural light, the more I like a bit of reflection. It's tougher to control than in a light box, but the results can be worth the effort. It's tough to capture all the facets of the Conquest's dial, and the rich color of the rose gold is only found on a few manufacturer's pieces from the period. Plenty of brands had nice yellow gold (Omega & JLC are my favorites from the 50's and 60's) but only Rolex and Longines got this shade perfect. Not too pink, not too yellow or brassy. ...and alvin - try not to drool on your keyboard. :D
AquadiveI have been impressed by many watches in the past, but how many time have I had a chance to experience an iconic brand of the 60¡¯s and 70¡¯s, answer¡.none, until today.I am wearing the Aquadive Bathyscaphe 100 which oozes vintage and history. Let the pictures speak for themselves. All the watches great examples of German and Swiss workmanship. Web site: Welcome to Aquadive WatchesDrop by and read the history of this brand, I am sure you will be as impressed and I am.
So, I recently posted a thread that I've been bitten by the AP bug....and it's getting worse!I already had a 15400 blue dial and just received my AP 42mm Elephant from Takuya this week....and now I'm looking at the 26405CE - HELP!Can those of you who have them provide me with feedback on how the piece wears versus the SS case (e.g. scratching, chips, etc.) as I want an all-arounder that I can wear all the time on weekends/holidays.I actually thought about the FC, but I prefer the dial on the ceramic and have read the FC doesn't take wear-and-tear as well...or am I mistaken?Looking forward to your input/feedback/wisdom!
im choosing between omega, panerai and rolexomega - sort of like the devil tail hands and the wavy bezel but that's all i know at this point. just trying to widen my collection and get one from each brand.rolex - would have gone with sub but i the flimsy clasp and small markers (compared to gmt2c) are putting me offpam104 - would have gone with this but the large case it not versatile when i wear long sleeve.i would appreciate your thoughts guys. thanks!
I've heard for years that Rolex has its own foundry, and makes its own 904L stainless steel. However, I was reading an article on Deployant, written in 2016, and they said the following:Although Rolex is one of the few watch companies to own and operate their own metal foundries, the in-house foundry is used to make precious metals like their proprietary Everose gold. Steel, especially the 904L used by Rolex exclusively in all their stainless steel products is so specialized that it is made by from a supplier. The supplier works under strict specifications from Rolex. This was news to me, and I don't know whether it's correct or not. Does anyone have any input?
