Opinions on a Omega Seamaster chronograph 2599.80

From the Submariner and it's various depth ratings to the Sea Dweller & DeepSea's incredible specifications. (I have read that only 2% of wearers of 'Divers Watches' can actually swim). How many of us, wearing a Yachtmaster, GMT, Daytona, Milgaus ,et al, make use of their full capabilities?I have travelled across various time zones and found it easier to change the position of the hands on my GMT, rather than figure out the correct,relevant position of the bezel etc. So. What ARE we paying for, beyond a reliable, sturdy movement in a nice,tight case?Are all those extra, albeit, beautifuly designed and sculpted features just a personal fashion/style statement?
