Fortis B-47 Calculator Watch Has Amusingly Busy Dial
There is something comical about just how busy Fortis made this B-47 Calculator watch. Even the name is silly. When you hear the term "calculator watch" you immediately think of something digital quartz, and Japanese. I've had calculator watches when I was a kid. I loved those. I wouldn't wear them today as I am a grown up, and I don't know if I would wear this comically designed watch either. With enough stuff going on to make a weak-minded person tremble. "I just wanted to know what time it was.The fact that the 47mm wide steel case frames what is in actuality a tiny dial for the time is even more funny/cute to me. "Aww, look how Fortis managed to fit in those time hands. Just the normal sized ones!" A full GMT watch dial on a large watch, in miniature. I didn't think that I would ever say that, but I did. AP question about production?
does anyone know just how many of each model is produced each year by AP since the watches are made completely by hand with extreme detail?There is a No xxxx engraved on the back but i'm not sure if thats the total number of that model produced to date or if thats the number produced for that series..im also confused as AP doesn't change their series letter every year like rolex does.. I know they were making G series for a couple years and now they have released H series.any info would be great.i think now that the ROO's are being shipped with AP's in house movement, their production numbers may be a little lower than before at least for a little while.

Patek 5711 or 5712?
This has come up many times before on this forum, but not since 2014. I'm wondering how thoughts have changed.I have an opportunity to but either a 5711 or 5712 new from AD. Both in steel (blue dial) and both on bracelet. Really struggling which one to choose as what I like about each is also what I don't like about each (relative to one another). For instance:5711I love the plain dial, but worry that the plan dial is too boring.Love the understated look, but worry it's too understated.Like that it is less money, but is it inferior because it is less money.5712Love the complications, but don't really need any of the complications.Love the asymmetrical dial, but worry it's too busy.Like that it is more interesting, worry that it I will like it less as time wears on.Curious what the current sentiments are out there now that both of these references are extremely difficult to find at AD.Any and all help/thoughts are appreciated. Especially from those that have also gone through this excru
