I mostly hang out in the Bulova/Accutron forum but am seeking a bit of help with something about which I know nothing. A couple of years ago I bought a lot of watches at an estate auction to get an Accutron that was in the lot. The watches seemed to be old, the oldest one I've been able to date was a 1928 Hamilton and the newest about 1970. Last night, while nursing an ill wife, I decided to try to research this Seiko Sports 100 A914, mostly trying to find instructions on how to use the various functions. It has A914 on the back. I found several with A904 but no A914. Does anybody have any idea how old it is or whether it would be worth putting on Ebay ? It seems to be in nice condition but the bracelet, which seems to be original, is pretty snug on my 7 1/2 " wrist. Any info will be appreciated.
Do you own any rose gold/rose gold plate pieces?Do you prefer it to yellow/white gold?I do. I think it's richer and dressier. Here's one of mine:Cast your vote!
Hi boys ! Very happy to say that I have my first AP on the way, after a few Rolex I finally tried on the silver dial 15400 and I was hooked. Is there anything I need to know ? I'm very used to Rolex being built like tanks I'm just wondering if there's something I should know about. Like Omega's 'don't change the date between 10 and 2'. My mindset with Rolex has been to send for service only when needed, it always ended up being cheaper then just sending it in every 5 years even if something happen to break. I'm talking 10 years or so not 20-30. Should I be more careful with the AP ?What about swimming with the AP ?I'm sure this is mostly dumb questions just rather be safe then sorry.
So I was killing time at the big mall here in Orlando while my wife was doing whatever she does. This mall has a Breitling Boutique (as well as a Rolex and Omega boutique as well). They had a boutique only 1 of 100 Avenger Blackbird with a stunning yellow face that really caught my eye. It was $5100 and I nearly got sucked into the 1 of 100 bit but I decided to take my smartphone (at my wife's insistence) and ask in this forum if the limited edition actually increases the value. Nearly immediately I received a response that no, in fact it does not and by the way don't buy a Breitling new anyway. Thanks TRF as always.Last night I was in another mall and my wife was looking for a Mikimoto bracelet, ths store was a Breitling dealer as well and I spotted an Avenger II Seawolf with a yellow dial on a rubber strap. I was not wild about the military strap on the blackbird anyway. Bottom line here, I walked out with this..I know, I was warned not to buy new but I felt I received a good
