Romain Jerome Titanic DNA Ch¨¦ca Is Melty Face Watch
I do applaud Romain Jerome for being so ballsy and avant garde. They have made some nice one-off or limited edition pieces that spit in the face of fellow Swiss who are highly conservative most of the time - especially in terms of watch design. Actually, even Romain Jerome's non limited edition watches are "special." Love them or hate them you have to appreciate their niche and determination to be different.? However, that doesn't mean I have to love everything they make. This new special "art" watch by French artist Andr¨¦ Ch¨¦ca is a bit much for me. It is one of those things that I freely admit not liking, but appreciate the artistic endeavors behind it, and that it exists. As though I wouldn't get pissed about it being in a museum ("That isn't art, I could do that!"), but I would openly discuss my distaste for it ("My lord this piece tickles the vomit enticing regions of my gullet").According to Ch¨¦ca, the watch is meant to appear like the "tortured" pieces of metal that lay thousand

Grandpa's Lester-back from the dead!
I would hope my grandfather would be proud. I finally finished the restoration (my first) of the Hamilton Lester he received in 1942. It was not running when I got it, and it looked like this:I cleaned and oiled the 982 movement, replaced the mainspring and crystal, ditched the awful stretch band and replaced it with ostrich, and here is the result:I ended up using a parts 982 movement to supply a few items that I managed to break during my learning process, but all in all, a rather successful endeavor!It is running well and looking good!

Real or Fake Victorinox Swiss Army Watch? What model?
Hey,I'm new to the forum so I apologize, if this is not the place to post this question. So, I bought this watch at a flea market the other day for $15. I realized when I got home the back-case was not really shut properly, so I popped it open with my finger. (see the pics) From what I can see, it says "PC21S" (not sure what the "S" is for), writing says "Singapore No Jewels". So, I'm thinking it's a fake? the watch is actually keeping time pretty well. The back of the case looks suspicious, the number on it is "8888", though I can't seem to find any Swiss army watch like that. From the styling it looks similar to the Victorinox Cavalry..maybe) The face is a glow-in-the dark, seems to work fine. A few questions:1) Is the whole thing fake, or just the movement, and the back? Is the case or the dial real?2) I really like the case and dial, is it possible for me to get a correct movement installed? What movement is appropriate for this watch?3) If it is partially real, what model is this?

Visit to AP Boutique - Some new discoveries
Visited AP boutique in Singapore yesterday and peruse the rather rare RO Skeleton 15305 and also the increasingly hard to find RO Jumbo 15202.Here are some snap shots to share : The RO Skeleton will be a great addition to watch collectors that like to peer at watch movements. It is however, IMO not that practical as a watch because it is kind of hard to decipher the time with a quick glance due to the hands kind of disappear amidst the multitude of components. As for the RO Jumbo, it's certainly a beautiful piece, and the black display which shows off the customized JLC 2121 movement is exquisite.
