Breitling a2536821/g734-2cd wrist watches news:
Hand-made German UTS watches are one of those secret tool watch brands that all serious timepiece lovers eventually learn about. Their flagship model range is the 4000M, which now comes with a metallic blue diver as the UTS 4000M Pacific Horizon Blue limited edition dive watch. Produced in Munich, these are some of the most durable timepieces on the planet.Despite its massive water?resistance, the UTS 4000M Pacific Horizon Blue watch does note require a helium release valve, pretty much because it is so darn strong. The sapphire crystal (fully AR coated) is 6mm thick, and UTS uses a special system to hold the crystal in place. Thus, the extra crown on the 4000M watch case is not a helium release valve, but rather a lock to keep the rotating diver's bezel from turning. The bezel further makes use of ceramic ball bearings for the rotation system.UTS produces the cases for each of their watches in Germany, from German steel, and they aren't stamped but rather individually milled. As I'm sure we are all aware, things can get very crazy when it comes to collecting/acquiring watches. There are just so many to choose from and often I find myself unable to stay focused, keeping my "eye on the prize(s)", so to speak. Now, there are quite a few different pieces that I want, such as a Breitling Colt, Stowa Flieger and maybe even that grail Blancpain! That said, I have come to the conclusion that I am most definitely an Omega guy.;) To that end, I thought I would chase some vintage pieces, but with a theme. I recently acquired the perfect Omega Seamaster Cosmic that I had been after for a year, complete with the dial, movement and features I sought (day/date, stainless case) from my birth year of 1969. I am going to try and get a Seamaster and Constellation with the same features from the same year, with a Dynamic an outside possibility. I may eventually drop the feature requirement to add a DeVille and Speedmaster as well.First, what does everyone think of this
love to see some great photos of the 114270. I recall one shot with water over it..does anyone recall that shot. I think it won the photo comp.Knoffie
Guys, Went to AD in Edinburgh mid-week and seen that Omega have raised their prices by 12% (on top of 2 1/2% VAT rise in January). Last year I negotiated a 17 1/2% reduction on the then price of my Aqua Terra Chronograph. Even then I struggled to meet the purchase price. If I delayed the purchase to this year, and even if I negotiated a similar discount, I probably wouldn't have been able to afford my watch.I know that yearly sales figures must be sufficient to legislate for such a price hike, but surely a high volume of potential purchasers are being outpriced? On a slightly different note, I'm assuming that as retail prices go up annually that there must be a relative rise in second hand values? This is wishful thinking more than anything else!
Wish I could find one of these at a boot sale a nice surprise at the antique road show.
