Breitling HB011012/A698-croco-brown-deployant wrist watches news:
I took some time this weekend to put together a case, dial, and parts into a nice little Wathham 3/0 7j pocket watch conversion. The case is a little dinged but all the joints are tight. I like the little bit of engraving on the bezel. The dial is flawless. The band I hacked from another old watch out of the drawer. It needs some additional work to pretty it up. The crystal was very checked and needs replacing especially after I broke it popping it back into the bezel right before taking pictures. ARRG.The grade 310 movement cranked right up after a bath. This style of watch is very different from anything else in my collection. I'm not sure I would persue any more but this one is interesting and sure to start some conversations.Joel

Hello all from the newest and probably most ignorant member of this forum. I recently decided after my Rolex Daytona was ready for its third 700 dollar servicing, that I needed a watch that was easier to maintain. I began looking at wwII era watches...as a lover of history, and I stumbled upon the canteen watches by Hamilton and Elgin. I liked the Hamiltons appearance, and I also liked that they were first...and more likely to have seen service in the war. I bought a watch recently, and it seems to be correct in every aspect, (crystal, movement, hands, case, markings, dust cover) but the dial, which is clearly not new, is exactly like the other canteens I have seen, but it does not have the USN BUSHIPS in white. It does have the name Hamilton stamped in black above the 6. I have exchanged several emails with a very helpful gentleman in CA who may be on this forum, also, and he says he believes that the dial cannot be original. My question is: Has anyone seen or owned a Ham. can
By popular request here are some pics I took of royal oaks (some in San Francisco, some back home here in Canada) - people have been asking me about the 15400I've been tempted towards another AP for some time - and maybe a royal oak might be rightBut then again maybe a ROO (see the upcoming thread)Anyway - here is a royal oak jumbo 15202 in white, a royal oak 15400 in blue, and a royal oak 15300 on charcoal (sorry due to the lighting the latter two look similar - but they are quite different in person as I recall - I did take the picks in two separate countries...I wonder which looks best :) anyone Anna weigh in?Current Collection:Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore RubbercladA Lange Sohne Lange 1 PlatinumJaeger LeCoultre AMVOX II DBSIWC Portuguese AutomaticBR 01-94 Phantom XXX/50Rolex Deep Sea Seadweller 2012Rolex Double Red Seadweller 1976Rolex Everrose Gold Daytona (black dial)Patek Philippe SS Nautilus
Yesterday my collection became all Rolex. I sold my last Non- Rolex watch Breitling Bentley 6.75 Speed. (besides my Apple 3 Nike Watch lol). Feels kind of good. Collection now consists of YM2 SS 44mm, Bluesy Two Tone Submariner, and James Cameron Deep Sea Blue. I am thinking of adding another watch around December. Any suggestions on what other Rolex you would add to this collection? I am 6ft 4 230 pounds and Daytona runs too small.
