Porsche Design is releasing their new 1919 collection, which will introduce the Porsche Design 1919 Datetimer Series 1 and the Porsche Design 1919 Globetimer Series 1 watches. The 1919 collection is Porsche Design's homage to the Bauhaus movement. For those not familiar, the Bauhaus movement placed great importance on the concepts of simplicity and functionality in design. Though it's a little early for the centenary celebration of the movement (that will be in 2019, if you couldn't guess by the name of the collection), Porsche Design has unveiled the two watches in this collection. What's interesting, though, is the fact that this is the kind statement that Porsche Design is choosing to make after their relationship with Eterna came to an end about a year and a half ago. Current Lineup
Just because I haven't done it before, here's a gallery of my current rotation. My wife and I purchased matching Tissots on our honeymoon in Jamaica in Oct. of 1995. The others are all less than a year old, and hopefully I've settled on a collection I can just wear and enjoy for a while without wondering what is next. See next post for the remaining two. I have a couple of other quartz watches that I need to put batteries in, then see if they get introduced to the rotation. Cal 9300 must be the noisiest cal out there
HiI have to say my DSOTM is the noisiest watch I have ever owned. The rotor sounds like a bag of marbles when it spins other than that it seems to be a very stable movement. Not sure if the Ceramic case transfers the noise better than steel. What are your 9300 noise levels like realizing that this is a very personal thing perception wise. how do you store your watches?
So when you're not wearing them, how do you store your rolexes?Do you put them in a self winding box? just a regular watch box or something else?I'd love to see some ideas :)
