If so, how about some photos? Thanks!
Pursuing its reinterpretation of the Villeret collection undertaken in 2010, Blancpain is now presenting a single-pusher chronograph with complete calendar and moon phases. In addition to the technical challenge involved, this original combination called for particular attention in order to preserve the readability of the dial and the stylistic purity of this model, thus ensuring harmony with the traditions of the collection. This model in the Villeret collection is equipped with Calibre 66CM8, a movement that emerged only recently from the workshops and was built on two principles: ensuring optimal user friendliness and preserving the understated elegance of the watch of which it will become the beating heart.User friendliness is ensured by the protection of the complete calendar and moon-phase mechanisms. These complications, based on a set of complex and delicate gear trains, have been redesigned in order to avoid any risk of damaging the movement. The indications are adjusted by mea
The other day I was putting Tung oil on some pine flooring and when I was cleaning up with mineral spirits I got it all over my fairly new Orient watch. The first thing I did was wipe it down with a rag and went inside and washed it with slightly warm water and dish soap. Then I got to thinking about the best way to clean a water resistant watch. I don't think dish soap is a good idea because it is supposed to break down oils and grease so I would think that if your watch had any "O" rings in it this soap might dry them out and make them less flexible. Has anybody out there used mineral oil to loosen any dirt and then give the watch a good wipe down. This seems like it wouldn't be a bad idea.Anyway, if anybody has any suggestions or good methods please post them.
Please forgive me for beginning this thread before owning the watch. Since seeing it in real life on Friday, it has become a must have. In my search for a precious metal watch - and believe me, I have explored all options - this Gondolo is now at the top of my list.Having long been an admirer of Patek Philippe, and having actually tried on a couple of models, I have never found one that really has enough versatility for my lifestyle. It would be an injustice to the brand for me to acquire a Patek Philippe mainly for the purpose of being able to say that I own one. Perhaps there will be others after I acquire this one, which should occur within the next few months. For some reason, I really want a rectangular shape for what may be my only precious metal watch. There are not many reviews, comments or posts online in reference to the Gondolo, and I was a bit underwhelmed by many of the photos I saw. That was before I saw this beauty in the display window of the AD here in Vancouver. These
GMT is at the top of my want list right now and can't decide, need your guys help... do I go with the older 116713LN (yg/ss/black dial/green text + gmt hand) or the newer 126711CHNR Rootbeer? I'm genuinely torn as the 116713LN was something I'd wanted for ages- I just love that green text and gmt hand against the black dial-, but the new Rootbeer has seriously piqued my interest now- I love black and brown. At first I wasn't sure about everose (rose gold) with stainless, but it has really grown on me, plus I don't think the brown/black bezel would work with yellow gold. My dream GMT is the 116718LN, but is much past my budget for the time being... wonder what sort of discount an AD could offer on that one... Anyways, help me decide, guys! FWIW, I was told October for the new TT GMT- I'm happy to wait until then if that's the one I decide on... as of right now it's a perfect 50/50, they're both so great!
