Are you the rare WIS that barely even looks at your watches anymore?
When I say look at your watch, I mean stare at it and admire it's beauty. Staring at the dial, admiring it's perfection, fondling the tough Rolex bracelet. When I first got my watches, I'd gaze at them now and then, adoring them for what they are, and smiling a lot. Now that I've had them for a few years, I rarely just stare at them unless I'm bored or have just read this forum. The love affair is still there, it's just that they've become more like wallpaper and I don't notice them as much.If I had to go back to wearing an inexpensive watch again, I would still pine away for a Rolex. I guess I've just become pretty busy with life so looking at the watches is less important to me. I obviously enjoy this forum a lot and I get to look at other people's pics and enjoy them. Hamilton Chronometer on Pawn Stars
I was watching an episode of Pawn Stars a couple of days ago, during one of their marathons, where a customer brought in a vintage Hamilton Chronometer to sell. At first blush, it appeared to not be in working order. That definitely affected what Rick offered the seller. I think they ended settling on about $250. The Chronometer was taken to a watch/clock expert and the movement was pulled from case. It turned out some wooden shims had been placed in the movement to keep it from being damaged during shipping. After they were removed, it began to run. The assertion was made that a working model was likely worth around $2500. (It appears to have sold for about $160 new.)Does anyone have any idea how accurate that might be?

Not exactly, what I'm looking, but it does have the large date and month. Plus it is an annual calendar, which means, I think, it needs to only be change on Feb 28th....?A really nice movement from ML, with 49 jewels and adjusted to 3 positions (I think).Local jewelery store has what I consider a great deal on since it is a discoed model. Vintage Constellation prices
I'm thinking about a vintage Constellation in steel or gold on a leather strap and would appreciate any thoughts on what prices are like for good condition examples . . . something I'd wear on a regular basis, not a rare or highly collectible model.Thanks for any thoughts.

Ok, the last thing I need is another watch (right now!) b/c I want to buy my Dad something nice first, and then perhaps a Speedy for me. BUT.....I will probably regret asking this because I dont need another obsession, but...Is there a good, reputable source(s) for vintage Omegas? I was thinking of perhaps purchasing a 1960's vintage Connie or Seamaster, or something from the 1970's era of same?In the alternative, as a rabid TAG Heuer fan, I would love to own a 70's vintage Heuer chrono.NOTE: I am not looking to buy any time soon, which is why I am not asking for a recommend for a TRF member to buy from.Thanks!
