14mm straps Ho!
I strapped up a few of my smaller sized cases with finds from Ebay. 99% of the narrow straps found there are for Ladies watches and only 6 ? in long which just doesn¡¯t cut the mustard if I plan on wearing many of my Bulovas and some Elgins and Walthams. Here¡¯s an example of a Lord Elgin from 1945. It has a 21j 559 and the star on the dial indicates it¡¯s ¡°timed to the stars¡±.Next is a little freckle faced Bulova made in 1949.It¡¯s running a 17j 10BM movement and has a touch of engraving on the bezel that I need to pick out with some enamel.Third has a 1933 Sapphire filled Waltham . This is the 15j movement in the ¡° Jewel¡± family of 6/0¡¯s. I think this is a jobber case but the rose gold and copper dial are very attractive. I haven¡¯t seen enough 30¡¯s Waltham cases to know if they signed all of their factory watches. 6/0 jobber cases are fairly common.Joel

Take a quick look on google for some images of the LLD.I had been looking at the LLD for over six months- the style just looked so super cool. Funny, because I am not into vintage watches at all. But this one just had a great look and I loved the material strap, which is said to be completely waterproof (see previous thread).So in July, I went for it.But the way, the LLD box is incredible- it's huge! I could write a whole review about the box! A masterpiece.So, my comments on the piece itself. At 42mm, with a slim strap, it is not huge but, since there is no outer bezel, it is quite a nice size. I wear mine to work with a suit- I think it looks absolutely classic with a suit or with a jacket. The double crowns give it a nice sporty feel at the same time. It's not actually that new but I finally figured out how to post pics and I promised I would once I did. I love this watch and I consider it one of my best in my meager collection. The 7750 valjoux movmt. is the my pride of my automatics. One day I hope own some finer pieces. But I'm enjoying this watch very much.

AP 101 - Help
Hi All,I'm from the Rolex Forum (couple floors up)Pretty well versed in Rolex watches at this point but know next to nothing about AP. Find AP references to be extremely pretty but confusing because of all the different models. I like the RO but am never clear about all the different sizes.Can anyone attempt to explain the lineup to me? For instance, what is the most popular or best selling AP watch? What is the submariner equivalent (in terms of popularity and recognition)?

Flip the Sub 114060 for a GMT 16710?
I currently have a Sub C ND that I bought to wear as an every day watch and it does the job perfectly. But I'll be honest, it just doesn't give me that special feeling that my BLNR gives me every time I put it on. It feels great on the wrist and the watch itself is very handsome but it's also a bit...boring. I've been considering almost every SS model but nothing was singing to me. Then it just happened, the 16710 GMT Master II. I've always liked them but being that they were discontinued a while back, I was a bit nervous to buy an older watch. But lately I've been looking at them more and more and it just really grew on me. Unfortunately, so has the price. If I were to buy one it would most likely have to be an incomplete set, probably watch only and I would probably still have to add some cash on top after selling the ND (which is a complete set). I am buying with the intention of wearing and not storing so as long as the watch is in good condition I wouldn't mind. Would you guys fli
