Breitling A17350 wrist watches news:
This week, Bring A Loupe focuses on a perennial favorite: vintage Omegas, from an intriguing Railmaster to an exotic Speedmaster. We will also examine one of the very first Rolex Submariners with crown guards, a reference 5513 with a flawless gilt dial. And to round things out, we have a couple of chronographs from Breitling and Universal Geneve, each with their own interesting quirks. This is your Bring A Loupe for January 8, 2016. An Early Rolex Submariner Reference 5513, A Stunning Vintage Sub With Glossy Gilt Dial 1 OF 12 This dial instantly tells you one thing: you are not looking at your average Submariner. This vintage Sub exhibits exactly what we love: a deep glossy dial and a fat case. The dial is marvelous, with a lacquer finish characteristic of the early 5513s. Until 1966, the reference 5513 boasted a glossy dial with gilt lettering ("gilt" referring to the golden color). Only after 1966 would the Submariners have the matte dials we described
First, I'd like to say that this is a great forum, and I have found it very interesting already. While I am not a watch collector (my obsession with antique cars consumes most of my time & $) , I have a true appreciation for both clocks and watches - especially Hamiltons. I spent the first 10 years of my career working at Ridgeway Clock Co. in Ridgeway, Virginia. My interest in all mechanical devices combined with my training in the wood products industry led me in that direction, and I found it to be a very fascinating industry to work in.The reason for my thread is to ask for help in identifying and determining the restoration potential for a Hamilton watch that I inherited from my grandfather. He passed away back in 1991, and I have kept this watch in a box since then. It seems now is a good time to get it out and consider restoring it. I am not so concerned with the monetary value of the watch, as the significance to me is sentimantal. I worry; however, whether the watch can be
Last month we were treated to one of the Hamilton promotional films available on the internet. Today I came across the url for another. Enjoy!archive.org/stream/HowaWa...1949_256kb.mp4
Guys,I have been told the discontinued 25940 can now be had at an amazing price. If anyone knows where I can grab one at a steal, please let me know. Thanks,Farris
I have to say i have never been a fan of the WG ceramic pepsi gmt, not because of the bezel because i love it. I just think doing a WG only was a low blow and only a way to push up the price point because of the fact it is PM to bring in the Pepsi bezel lovers that would buy the watch on the bezel alone.Personally i think the oyster bracelet would have been a better choice for SS and Jubilee a right choice for WG. I belive the fact they went the other way around shows me it was a marketing call, now that they brought in as much sales in of WG that played around with the style to sell it in SS.I just dont think that was COOL...
