- Compared to his previous version, this watch seems cheaply made. The hands are loose and it is hard to set at the specific time you want.

Hey, new to the forum let me just say that there seems to be some helpful people here. I'm new to the higher end watches and have been contemplating getting one for awhile (have been waiting until the cash became available). After looking through many different options (my price range is under 5k), I find myself drawn to IWC pilot's, specifically mark XVI. The newer portofino's are incredible nice and simple as well. My wrists are not enormous so anything around 46mm makes me look like a background dancer in a little john song.Any advice on other IWC's which may fit my description or comparable mechanical watches with the same type of understated look and high quality IWC provides. Buying used is also a possibility but I like in Canada so the options aren't as great. Thanks!
and my first post on this Forum.Hello everybody,My name is Larry, I live in Germany and my passion (among other things) is watches. As my father once told me (and at that time I was only 18 years old) -"My son, you've had more watches in 18 years as I ever had in my entire life!"I got my first watch as a present from my father when I was only 8 years old. I was fascinated by it and ever since I am wearing one and I cannot conceive leaving the house without a watch on my wrist. Browsing the Internet I came across this vintage watch which I found very appealing: PRISTINE MENS VINTAGE LONGINES ADMIRAL 1200 10K GOLD FILLED AUTOMATIC WRISTWATCH | eBay. It was listed at 449 USD and according to Longines, it was sold to Longines-Wittnauer (their US official branch at that time) in February 1963 - so, it's a five
