Breitling WB3510U0/A777BKLD wrist watches news:
Good day all fellow Hamilton enthusiasts. I am recently a new Hamilton King Scuba watch owner. I have always been interested in watches and have always wanted to start collecting. I am so happy with my new Hamilton that I went out and purchased my wife one as well. One quick question here - I have been tracking the accuracy and it is at 10 seconds fast per 24 hours. Reading some of the threads this seems to be at the limit of acceptable accuracy. Knowing that I have sacraficed some accuaracy with an automatic movement should I bring this to the attention of my watchmaker?
Yesterday (I know, a day late and a dollar short), I read that Movado is selling the EBEL Calibre 137 to Ulysses Nardin. The stated rational is that Movado intends to focus EBEL and women's watches and does not plan on EBEL producing high end mechanical chronographs any longer. Is Movado trying to gut EBEL?1. Hasn't LVHM, the previous owner of EBEL, unsuccessfully tried to make EBEL a women's watch brand?2. Where does Movado intend to obtain movements for EBEL as SWATCH is alreadying discontinuing sale of mechanical movements and is soon to be discontinuing sale of quartz movements?3. Doesn't EBEL's watch making status stand primarily on the production of the Calibres 137 and 138?4. If Movado does not intend to gut (ie put out of business) EBEL, the only strategy I can see for Movado to exist as a watchmaker of any brands is for it to develop its own in house quartz movements.5. What are your thoughts?
I'm getting married and my future father in law is buying me a watch and he narrowed it down to three models:Omega Seamaster/speedmaster and Tudor Grantour. All 3 of them look good to me and they both have their good and bad points. If you had to choose, which one would you pick? Just wanted to get an input from the you knowledgeable people :)VjvVvIu.jpg0MVIEl7.jpgPM9sfpV.jpgAny help would be appreciated! Thanks
Edit - Title should read Divers' watch conundrum - Doxa/Omega/Oris - apologies for the typos - how can I edit them?Hi there - I'm seeking your view on the following watches I am considering for sports use:Omega Planet OceanDoxa 1200T searambler - photo credit RambamOris TT1 diver dateOris - Purely mechanical Swiss watches. In particular, I'm keen to know anyone who's had use or experience with more than one of the watches listed (or any of the Doxa 1000/1200 series). Things that concern me are the comfort/accuracy/durability/workmanship etc of the watches. The all seem very similarly specc'd and quality seems similar. I like the PO but won't pay over a $1000 more for it unless there's a good reason why. I have the co-axial 2500c movement already, and it's nice but not earth-shattering. I have heard that the Doxa is made in China, but happy to be corrected if that is incorrect.I am not concerned about WR, helium release valves, prestige of the marque, resale value, ability to swap st
I have not owned a Submariner yet, but I will one day. I do own a Seamaster Pro now though. I have handled and worn many a Submariner and to me at least it does not feel like its a $5K+ watch. It is very well built, but feels cheap in its bracelet mostly, and feels light to me. My SMP on the other hand is built like a tank. The bracelet is many times better than the Rolex bracelet. Im aware that Rolex uses a completely in house built movement, which contributes to the price of a Sub I am sure. At the same time I have trouble believing it is head and shoulders above a Swiss ETA based movement which becomes the Omega Ca. 1120 in my SMP. I firmly believe it is Rolex's control of their dealers and marketing, along with annual price increases on new watches that keeps the prices of the pre owned Subs so high. I actually had a guy with a Sub talk down to me yesterday when he saw my Omega. He said Heh you have an Omega, I a Rolex Submariner, a real watch. Then he proceeded to shove it in my f
