Breitling P2636212-Q529-973A wrist watches news:
Hi all,I have joined this forum to know more about watches. Im a rolex guy, and I have decided to go for AP to start with 15400 black. The moment I tried on the RO I didn't want to take it off and go back to Rolex, it was a different feeling with an AP ON !!!!So I decided to go for AP RO black, the price at the boutique after discount ?11250.Local dealer in the city offered ?9375. So I need your advice in this matter, not only priceswise , if any things need to be considered before I go agead with both dealers.Regards,Mo
Seeing all the feedback on the novelties from SIHH and also a lot of the comments in the past, may I recommend to AP (if they read this), the following:I think AP should launch a custom watch configurator system - clients can specify all the materials/combo they want from a standard list; they could charge a decent premium for this - say 25-30% and I am sure there would be good take up. Variables:1. Watch case material2. Bezel material3. Dial style, flat or tapisserie4. Numerals - sticks or numbers5. Dial colour6. Numerals/sticks colour.7. Crown and pusher materials.8. Strap material9. Buckle or deployment.Of course one could go further, but the above would give you almost unlimited combinations, and they would have to set up an AP Bespoke department or similar, charge a premium of course and throw in some bells and whistles along with it, along the lines of creating a ROO VIP club effect. You read it here first!
i always kinda thought that omega was the 'came in second' guy in the watch race being such a rolex devotee.....but i was with a few guys and we were discussing watches and my pals dad (80) mentions his omega he's had on his wrist for 30 yrs.....so he takes it off and hands it to me....and i get it.....i get the omega thing....solid, conservative but clean designs....but after learning a bit about movements, i actually think omega is busting a move for a move into competition with rolex with the twin axial thing....and actually as a lifelong competitive swimmer myself, omega is all over the place with references to sports timing....so heres my thinking....i do think we're gonna have another financial 'adjustment' and i think future adjustments actually are just markers for new 'financial normals'.....and i think that at the price, omega just may be a better place to put $ than rolex in a challenged financial market....im diversified re watches (rolex, omega and a tissot as a surf watch
I brought my watch to my AD and it was sent to the New Jersey Service Center. It took five weeks to get a price for servicing and just one week short of four months (including the five weeks) to get the watch back. I was beginning to get concerned, although I read on one of the forums that the centers had an unusually large number of watches in for work. In any event, I¡¯ve got to say that the finished product is awesome. Despite being about twenty years old, the watch came back looking brand new. Everything is working perfectly. I couldn¡¯t be happier! For those who may be interested, the watch was in excellent cosmetic condition when sent in, so no major items needed repair or replacement. In fact, I understand that this was basically a disassembly and cleaning only. The cost was $614 which I thought was reasonable, especially considering the complications that are part of this watch. Here are a few photos:
This story is too comical not to tell.I bought a 5711 white from a Patek AD in April to celebrate my engagement. I open it (shipped from out of state thus lack of pre purchase inspection) to immediately find the dreaded misaligned 12 has marks. Sigh ....I consult with the highlander and ultimately decide in going to send it back to the AD. The AD takes care of it and sends it to HSWA on my behalf and has the watch back on my wrist in 3 weeks! Hooray!I literally started laughing after just catching this now, like some game you play at a dive bar for a dollar. Anyone spot the mistake on my 2nd dial? Come on Patek! Are you just (expletive) with me?!I don't want a refund because this watch has sentimental value. I'm lost for words haha I will say I don't hate them yet, in fact I still love Patek Can they hurry up and hire Bas so they can get their sh!t together??
