Chronoswiss Sold to Swiss Investor
Munich-based watchmaker Chronoswiss has been sold to Swiss entrepreneur Oliver Ebstein, 37, and his wife Eva Maria. The Lucerne-based owners are new to the watch industry, and they have said that Chronoswiss will be owned by them privately, rather than through their investment company Meru AG. “Chronoswiss is to be retained as an independent family. It is our great pleasure to introduce ourselves here to get involved in the long term, and sooner or later to direct the company itself. We want to continue the tradition of using high-quality mechanical watch components. Therefore, we look forward to working together with all employees on the success of Chronoswiss,” said Oliver Ebstein.Former Chronoswiss managing director Pete Josef Burgmayer remains on board, though Sigrun Schilling-Heinen will not continue with the firm. Orient Blue Ray issues?
I really like and enjoy my Blue Ray. I have a very small and not very expensive collection but this watch gets a lot of wrist time. It's also one of the more "spendy" watches I have purchased so I'm a little concerned about a couple of things with it and I'm just wondering of they are normal or not. The first thing I have noticed is that when I pull the crown out to set the time the second hand does not stop, it just keeps going so it's hard to set the exact time. Second, and I have just noticed this recently, the hour hand is not lining up with the hour marker when the minute hand it at the 12-o-clock position? Third, when I'm setting the date it seems to want to stop halfway between the date, like it's half way between 21/22. I can eventually get it to sit correctly but it seems like a decent watch shouldn't have this as an issue? Maybe it's just me expecting too much but like I said (I know it's an inexpensive watch) this IS a nice watch by a good company and that had a lot to do wi

Understated?
Just acquired this WG DD 40 and I'm really enjoying it; the size, craftsmanship, heft, glow of the WG, etc, etc.I feel like it's a really understated piece. I wear it with dress shirts as well as tee shirts and feel like it really flies under the radar, looking much like a garden-variety DJ or maybe even a knock-off to the non-WIS.The wife feels differently, calling it maybe a little blingy.Thoughts?
