- This watch is just beautiful. Though it is 'ger' than most, it is striking and I'm a very particular person. I have received lots of compliments on it and hope to enjoy it for many years. The price was excellent.

- This is a great value for a large-size Shark watch. Many similar models sell for twice the SmartBargains price!

- This is a watch with great lines and the color just pops. I collect Invicta's and I think this might soon be my favorite. Quality is good most of the time for Invictas. Jump in ... the water is warm!

Breitling A20048 wrist watches news:
Vendor misidentification in ebay auction 251103018859. I am sure I have pointed this out to him before. The watch is in fact a Hamilton Trent; one of Hamilton's more common models; catalogued between 1955 and 1969. Same case as the Romanesque S (hence the "confusion") but the Romaneque's dial is yellow gold and has a very fine linen-like finish. It's markers, numerals and hands are black. The Romanesque S is worth hundreds of dollars; very difficult to find (and hence a grail of mine). The Trent isn't - in yellow gold filled it's a $90-$150 watch at ebay.Voice of experience here; I fell for this same misidentification a few years ago before I knew what I know now. With a knowledgeable and experienced seller such as this please forgive me for thinking the error may not be accidental.I've informed the vendor; let's see what he does. Will maybe include my message at the bottom, but bet he doesn't edit the title or pull the auction.[EDIT - DARN I am good! The auction has been edited a
When I bought my Oris Williams F1 back in 2005, I was told by the dealer that I should have it serviced every three years. I was told that I could expect the service to run between $300 and $400.Yesterday, I was looking at it on my wrist, mildly impressed that the time displayed matched up with the time on my iPhone, and it dawned on me: I've owned this thing over ten years and I've never had it serviced (I've actually never had any of my watches serviced). I've kept it on a winder for the majority of its life and it runs like a champ. Had I gone with the dealer's recommendation, in two more years I'd be sending it in for its fourth service. Even if the cost of the service was at the low end of the dealer's guess, and was $300.00, in two years I'd be hitting the $1,200.00 mark in service fees.I only paid a grand for the watch. Is maintenance on automatic watches over-rated? Is it better to pay a repair bill than regular maintenance fees?Discuss...
It's official ladies and gentlemen. The swatch group has just announced that their Eta movement will only go in their own products and not be sold to other watch companies as of Jan 1 2010!!!Moved to a more appropriate Forum by Bullosa.
It looks like the Rolex is running a little fast next to the highly accurate Mascot here in NH.
Hi all,Do solid gold Rolex watches have solid gold base plates and platinum ones have platinum base plate? I am asking for 116508 Daytona in particular. Thanks so much,Tim
