- I happen to love Drusy and fell in love with this watch. I only wore it once for a special occasion, but regretfully no one made a comment about it. It's my taste not theirs.

Breitling AB015212/BA99-ocean-classic-steel wrist watches news:
Everyone knows Ellen DeGeneres – the mononymously famous Ellen (yes, that is a real word, we didn't make it up) is one of the best known and best liked people not just on TV, but in show business in general, and like many of you, we remember her turn as an Academy Awards host with a lot of pleasure. Not that that's setting the bar very high for success, but, you know, still. 1 OF 1 Anyway, she recently interviewed President Barack Obama for a segment of the Ellen DeGeneres Show, and wouldn't you know it, on her wrist was a pretty great watch: a Rolex Daytona, reference 6265, in gold, looking to be from the 1970s. The above shot was taken during a commercial break and both parties look like they're enjoying themselves quite a bit. Ellen is rumored to have a pretty major interest in watches in general and collectible vintage Rolexes in particular. It's an interest she's kept out of the spotlight by and large, but you can only be so under the ra
On my daily check of the new 'Elgin' wristwatch listings on Ebay, I saw what I at fist could not quite believe. It's a 16 size Elgin 23j Veritas pocketwatch, onto which some industrious citizen of the Ukraine has welded wristwatch lugs. Not a recased movement in a huge case, but an honest-to-goodness 16 size pocketwatch, WITH BOW, with lugs. Not only is it bigger than anything Panerai has ever dreamed of selling, but with the stem and bow it's just really, REALLY ugly.Do people actually BUY these things?

As the title suggest, I will be getting one of these two watches tomorrow, and would appreciate any input on which would be the better purchase. On one hand, the Patek is a brand with a well known and great history, and is definitely a known quantity. It is, however, more commonplace. The Journe is much less well known, and though it has a shorter history, I believe it exudes prestige in a different way. It also has the added benefit of being rare and uncommon.Price is not part of the consideration, as I am concerned mainly about things such as value retention, design, how it compliments my collection, and brand prestige/perception.My current collection includes two AP ROOs (elephant and navy), a rollie sub date, and PAM 320.Thank you in advance for all your input!
