Breitling A1931012/BB68/154A wrist watches news:
Well, I finished my search on the family's old guys watchesand I found two more watches, that I find some quite interesting, for what they are, and for what represent...First, a Bulova Accutron Spaceview, this watch is in pristine condition, looks really new, I just swapped the old stretchy bracelet for a leather band, but not even cleaned the watch, picture is as it was found...I need to find a spare battery, as this uses 1.35V, and I don't want to fry the coils , any advice?I will ask in the Accutron forum too...Second, a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date, this watch have a very sad history behind, as it was from my uncle, who died in a car accident, and the damage seen in the watch is part of the accident's consequencesThis need a total restoration, but incredibly, after 35 years in a drawer, I shaked it, and it started and is running well and keeping great time, however it needs a new crystal, new dial, and new braceletI will try to do my best to restore it.
I was thinking about this the other day and many of us have a grail watch that in a perfect world we'd love to own but in some respects the thrill of the chase keeps the interest in watches going strong. If you finally find yourself in possession of your grail, what happens then? Is the quest over or do you then replace your grail with another grail?
I have slowly fallen in love with the Moonwatch. Such a classic and price is within reach.I did recently put a order for a new Subc no date because I dont want to deal with counterfeit Rolex. It would hate me emotionally if I ever found out I bought a fake used Rolex. With the Moonwatch, used price is relatively cheap (just the basic model) compare to a Rolex. The lower the capital cost, the lower the risk, just like all investment. How do I even start? I live in Canada and often travel to Asia (Hong Kong and China mostly) for pleasure/work. I am going to guess Canada is not the place to find a good used Moonwatch. How about Hong Kong? Any recommendation on where to start? It excites me knowing I will go though the process of learning how to find the right used Moonwatch and the actually used shopping process. I often buy used electronics and vehicle, that's the only used experience I have. Sold my damn Apple Watch last week, no more toy watch :)
I am currently thinking about adding an Omega to the collection. The two strongest contenders is the Omega Planet Ocean Orange XL 2208.50 or the Omega Speedmaster Professional Double sapphire 3573.50. Having a hard time in deciding between the two. I love the sportiness of the Planet Ocean and I think the size is better fit for my wrist. But I also love the timelessness of the Speedmaster. The newly released Planet Oceans really overshadow the old ones, and I am worried about getting a watch that will soon be dated.
Gari at the PANERAI boutique in Vegas was nice enough to switch out the strap on a 1499 to the nubuck alligator for me see. Really changed the entire look of the watch and really has me considering applying my winnings of the week (LOL) on this beauty!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
