Potentially Shallow Offerings From New Watch Company Deep Blue
There is a new diving watch brand in town. It is not particularly unique or exciting to me, and it looks like the bastard love child of Ocean7 and NauticFish. "Style" copying in the watch world is pretty prevalent as the look of a watch is almost impossible to copyright. The only practical things you can protect from an intellectual property standpoint on a watch are the logo (trademark), and potentially functional elements that you can get a patent on. Of course assuming they satisfy the requirements to be patentable. As for expressive elements like style, it is hard as hell to protect them with copyright as most of it has been done before in some watch at some point.At some point, it seems that NauticFish and Ocean7 met in a seedy tavern already under the influence of too much schnapps, only to hit it off. Both capable diving watches, each has a bit of a loyal fan base, they both pride themselves on being heavy pieces of metal, and so forth. A few drinks later nature took its course,

Field Titanium Premature Wear?
Hi all, I've been lurking on the forum for a while now.I recently purchased a Hamilton Field Titanium to add to my Hamilton Collection. I love the look and feel of the watch. However, I'm somewhat disappointed with the premature wear I've noticed on the watch. If you see the pictures attached, you'll notice the shiny, almost polished spots on the bracelet where the links rub against each other. On any other watch I would not notice such wear because of the bracelet's finish. However, on this watch, it's very noticeable because of the gorgeous matte finish. Here's the sad partI've only worn this watch for THREE DAYS!! I bought it on Friday and wore it through the weekend.It's also showing wear on the clasp where my wrist sits on my desk. Is this normal? Does anyone else have a field titanium that is experiencing this type of premature wear? Any recommendations on what to do? If this is the wear I'm experiencing after three days, imagine what the watch will look like after t

Hamiton TL need Battery
I have this Hamilton Quartz that needs a battery. I have never seen a battery like this one. The battery is a (CR 23 P) and it has a strange configuration of both + and - on the bottom. Love round shaped lugs.
Last week Cicindela posted pics of a Benrus with very nice disc shaped lugs. I realized I liked that feature on a wristwatch that I have examples of round lugged watches in my collection from 4 other manufacturers. Lets have a quiz. Who can give the manufacturer and model name? (I have to confess I only know 2 of the models by name.) Since Cici has show us a Benrus, that narrows the field down some. First up is the easiest and probable most common case.Next hardest. Extra points for the names of both the models featuring these lugs.Next a case I've only seen once on Ebay in the last two years.And the fourth case, maybe the hardest.Enjoy, Joel
