We talk about some new times, and new versions of old divers. The typical rants ensue as well.Listen to the HourTime Show watch podcast episode 22 here.
So ¡. last November (2014), on Black Friday, Joma had this great deal going on a new Linea (model 10010). "Perfect for my wife's upcoming 60th birthday," I said ¡ so I ordered. Now ¡ fast-forward to today, November 4th, 2015, we celebrated my wife's birthday this evening, during which she unboxed her new watch from its original packaging and wrapping; however, upon attempting to set the time, we found the watch to be dead dead dead. Apparently, the battery has died. No telling how long the watch was sitting in storage prior to me receiving it last November. Hopefully, it's only the battery and nothing more significant.Question ¡ is this something I should send back to Joma to address, since it is under their warranty, or is this something simple enough that a local (quality) watch repair service can handle with no problem? Thanks.OkeefenokeeJoe
Before you become nauseated at the thought of intentionally marrying non-original parts listen to the circumstances. Let's say you've been looking for a certain vintage piece for a long time. You've found the dial, hands, and movement in one frankenwatch. The case is part of another frankenwatch. Would you try to buy both and put the proper pieces together? Technically it would still be a franken, but it would be a rescued from two worse frankens. Don't pull any punches - let's hear your opinions.
This was actually the first AP I noticed out in the wild several years ago and got me interested in the brand. It wasn't until last year did I get my first AP - a silver dial 15400 - that I later sold towards the Diver. Now, I was able to trade a DSSD towards a ROC Panda 39mm. I'm completed in love with this watch! Great size, excellent bracelet (even though I do like the newer clasp better) and one of the best dials ever. Thanks again to DavidSW for another flawless deal! Two incomings in one day (SD4000):Pic with Diver:BZ
Yesterday I got a phone call..¡±Your green Submariner is here..¡±One month of waiting, declined BLNR, unlucky story with service at RSC of my Explorer.. and finally yes, this beauty in my hands. Love it! I will keep Explorer as my daily beater for office and LV probably will be my weekend watch..will see7CFC36EF-E343-405C-BF7D-2543156811DC.jpegEF47E570-4548-49A6-916E-4070678D4D71.jpeg
