I realize this may be removed, but just as a warning, I went to Rolex Forum the other night and my computer suddenly got hit with 9 viruses that I had to remove. Now when I do a search for Rolex Forum a message pops up warning the site may harm my computer. Therefore, I have not been back. Did anyone else experience this?
A friend suggested that I register here so that I could hopefully get some expert advice. I am thinking about buying a blue Monte Carlo 7169 and I am hoping that I could get some help about whether this watch looks 100% genuine. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. The seller seems sincere and honest and has spent a good deal of time communicating with me. I just want to hopefully get some outside perspective. That probably sounds like a naive question, and it probably is, but I'm just curious on the durability of the watch having never owned one before. Thanks.
I recently obtained a very nice Hamilton RR Special with a 505 movement. The watch did not have a battery clip; however in my spare parts I had one. The seller ever without the battery clip did test it with a battery with a wire to make a connection and it did run, They were correct however they did not run it if for a long period of time. Many times you hear of 500, 501, and 505 movements that run for a while then stops. Typical this problem is the result of the Shock Resist Jewels on the Balance Assembly are loose. On the Balance Bridge there is a Shock Resist Jewel and one on the front of the movement, they both hold the Balance Assembly in place. On the Shock Resist Jewels there is a spring loaded O-ring that has become loose and is not tight within the grove. I simple use a tooth pick and put and tightened the O-ring back into its groove. The only pain in the butt on performing this service is that in order to get to the front Shock Resist Jewel you must remove the stem, hands, and
Just an observation, went to Tysons 2 Mall in VA in middle of January and saw PP 5177 in white dial sitting on the shelf and last night I saw it again. Ask the sales guy about the blue version, he said he is trying to sell the white one first. Seems like the 5711 sale is getting soft...just my 2cents. Dealer name: Liljenquist & Beckstead
