Maurice Lacroix MP6119-SS001-13E wrist watches news:
As we approach the 40th anniversary of the landing on man on the moon I thought I would share these rare photos from that flight to the moon. (These are public domain NASA photos, you just have to know where to look for them.)Enjoy! The first is Lunar module pilot Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin, inside the module as it makes its way toward the Moon, July, 1969.The second was taken on the moon by Neil Armstrong of Buzz.
Got home from work today and my gf had a smile on her face and stated she found something for me...I've never seen one of these and am in love with it, it must have come from a watchmakers estate, whattya think? my first piece of horological decoration! My girl rocks!
Considering buying a Royal Oak but I heard horror stories regarding scratches. The bezel especially seems to be very critical. How bad do scratches look? On my IWC I don't mind as much as the bezel is pretty thin.
2 weeks ago, I decided to send my 42mm ROO off to get a Kill Bill dial with matching pvd-ed bezel screws and original yellow crocodile strap...here is the final result! I decided to mount the custom python strap on the watch for now because it matches the yellow in the dial better than the original AP strap which I am finding a tad too light.....may change it up later.Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk
In considering 5116 vs 5119, I find myself wondering, why bother?Yes, I know enamel dials are labor intensive, explaining the added cost, but why should I care? I've read about finding 2526s with enamel dials that are cracked, while ones with pristine enamel dials are very valuable, but if they crack so easily, what's the fuss about, besides making vintage collector's happy when they find a well preserved one because they are rare?
