Cartier W6920085 wrist watches news:
Who invented the winding mechanism by movement of a rotor? Some say it has invented by the watchmaker Abraham Louis Perrelet from Le Locle in about 1770.Other historians attribute the invention to the young watchmaker Hubert Sarton born on November 3, 1748 in what is now the Belgian town Li¨¨ge. Hubert Sarton is said to have invented the winding by rotor in 1778.The watch historian Joseph Flores is of the opinion that the invention must be attributed to Hubert Sarton and he has wrote a book about it. An interesting summary of this book can be found here.I for my part do not know it. Both schools of thought have points going for them as well as some opposing their view.On the eve of the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, Mr. Flores is to present his findings in a get together of watch historians and watch creators alike at the Salon GTE in Geneva. The Salon GTE being the exhibition of the independent watchmakers and watch engineers. It is held at the International Geneva Conferen
Rik- I just finished re-reading the John Holbrook/Dennis (Ulackfocus) debate about the Omega Co-Ax versus Rolex movement. I'm proud to say I even understood most of it. But it got me wondering about something. I'm already past middle age, so let's assume I have another 35 years left in me. As long as I do not abuse a watch and service it every 5 years, is it worth worrying about whether or not the gears or axles in a movement wear out in my lifetime?
On comedy sports show League of their Own last week we had two titans of UK and world sport wearing APs. Anthony Joshua, the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world and best thing to happen to the Heavies in 20 years, was wearing a QE II ROO, and Sir Mo Farrah, the 5 and 10 thousand metre double double Olympic Champion and our greatest ever athlete, was wearing a gold RO.AP are indeed in a league of their own.

Lately, I have been drooling over the blue WG Sub. I've always liked the blue Pelagos, too, and have occasional thoughts of picking one up.Do the GMT BLNR and BLRO have the same blue color on the bezel as the Sub?The blue dial SkyDweller and DJ41 are also gorgeous, as well as having the latest and greatest movements. The blue dial 39 OP is nice, however the green hour accents mar it for me.
