Cartier WE902037 wrist watches news:
Hello guyz,I have been lurking on this site for some time. From my experience I can tell there are a lot of knowledgable and friendly people on this forum. So I was wondering if I could get some advice on purchasing a seamaster. The model I am interested in is the black seamaster 2254.50. I am form Canada and have seen the model at my local AD and it is a very good price. ...Now for my question.. the sales person recommended that I pick up the watch (of course) because it was a good deal since omega will be dicontinuing the watch and putting a co-axial movement in the new model. So my question is should I wait and get the upgraded model with the better movement...i.e. more precise and longer service times, or should I save myself $1000? and stick with the current model and movement??Any thoughts would be appreciated.Oh, by the way, I will probably have this watch for a very long time before I buy another OMEGA (wife + 2 kids + one on the way). Thanks in advance...P.S. I am basing my pri
and my first post on this Forum.Hello everybody,My name is Larry, I live in Germany and my passion (among other things) is watches. As my father once told me (and at that time I was only 18 years old) -"My son, you've had more watches in 18 years as I ever had in my entire life!"I got my first watch as a present from my father when I was only 8 years old. I was fascinated by it and ever since I am wearing one and I cannot conceive leaving the house without a watch on my wrist. Some people think that they don't need a watch, since they have a cell phone. I agree to disagree with these people. So, enough OT.I wanted for long now to buy myself a Longines watch. Browsing the Internet I came across this vintage watch which I found very appealing: PRISTINE MENS VINTAGE LONGINES ADMIRAL 1200 10K GOLD FILLED AUTOMATIC WRISTWATCH | eBay. It was listed at 449 USD and according to Longines, it was sold to Longines-Wittnauer (their US official branch at that time) in February 1963 - so, it's a five
Searching for a new timepiece for my wife...I would appreciate suggestions that meet the criteria below..1. Quartz Movement2. Perpetual Calendar (wish, not must have)3. Date Display4. Functioning Bezel 5. Water Resistant 100 feet or more6. Under $1,000 USD7. Can be sized up to 37-38mm, does not necessarily have to be a ladies watch, per se...Looking forward to hearing from everyone who has thoughts...Thanks,Lawrence
Hmmm, I spent a big chunk of Saturday cruising ADs: Breitlings, Corums, IWC, Bedat, Omega, Rolex, Chopard and on and on. Then I watched the watch shows on that TV channel. My conclusion: there's no watch that really floats my boat. Nothing I actually want to acquire. I tried on the new IWC DaVinci and several other pieces I thought I wanted. I came away impressed, but unenthusiastic. Perhaps I have reached my saturation point - where all watches start looking like each other, blending together in one horological blur. It's odd not to have a Watch Want List.My passion for horology isn't waning, but I suspect it is morphing. And I'm not sure into what.I'm considering aggressively expanding my Tudor range, chasing vintage JLC's, Omegas or.even Rolex. Rolex at least has a viable secondary market.Or maybe I'll go German. But I think my days of randomly tasting many brands are over - at least for the moment. I also have little interest in the low-end, mid-range stuff. Now this isn't the natural
Imagine you are the lucky winner of 100 million$, which means that buying a 1 million dollar watch wouldn't leave you living in the street or eating rice and noodles the rest of your life, which one would you get?I would get the 5208p, would love to have a minute repeater, of course it has perpetual calendar, chrono (function I almost never used when I wore/wear a chrono), moon phase, love those things, basically of no use whatsoever, but very nice to look at, and a nice size of 42mm, even if my style makes me go more towards sporty models, must say if I had no limit money wise would definitely get one.But let's stay realistic, chances of winning 100M are not big, so I'm already very happy that I was able to afford a 5712, before I thought buying a watch for more than 15K was madness, as a result I have 7 watches from 7 to 14K, except for my Daytona 116515, that I never wear, so decided to sell all but 1, and buy a really great watch, the 5712, and maybe also a Royal Oak Jumbo, I hope
