Cartier W6920047 wrist watches news:
I recently got a 14k gold ladies Bulova (see thread in the Bulova sub forum). The movement doesn't wind and I can see some rust on it. Not terrible, but some.I was wondering if I could take the movement by itself, submerge it in some water in an ultrasonic cleaner and use that to clean it, and maybe free up the movement?I've never taken a watch movement apart, let alone one this small! I'm interested in learning how to clean and service my own watches, I've had...less than stellar experience with the local 'watch repairmen' Here's the Bulova in questionAnd here's the movement, you can see the rust
While browsing Crown & Buckle for a new strap today I stumbled across the brand Henri Sandoz. I don't know anything about the brand, having never heard of them before, but I found a handful of vintage watches by them on Ebay. They are reasonably priced and are quite handsome, such as this one:Vintage Henri Sandoz Fils 17JEWELS Swiss Wrist Watch I like the look of the watch and given the price point I am not expecting anything too sophisticated, but I was wondering if anyone has had any experiences with the brand.Cheers!
USPS kindly delivered my first Breitling today. Superocean II Abyss with blue ring on Pro II bracelet. Apparently, I don't have the correct size screwdriver to adjust this bracelet so it will have to keep resting on it's pillow for now. It looks fabulous in person! I will post much better pics once it is ready for action! (Stickers and protectors staying on for now in case I have to take it somewhere to get it sized).
I like both of these, but need help deciding. Which should I go with?
Today I visited my Rolex AD in Melbourne to check on a few possibilities for my collection... only to be told that the wait for a Daytona C was five years... and eighteen months for a DSSD Deep Blue... so I took a stroll to their sister shop down the road a little and after a lovely chat (and a glass of champagne) I purchased this... first of a new brand for me...
