Need help with a Seiko PMMM project
Hi everybody, I have a Seiko SKX007J4 and I love it, but there are some things on that watch that I feel they could be improved, those things are: a little less "sport" look on the dial and a clasp with more than two adjustment holes because the watch sits a little bit too loose or too tight on my wrist. Since I saw a picture of a PMMM (Poor Man's Marine Master) a couple of years ago, I always wanted to have one. So that's my project: building one out of some different parts. As I live in Venezuela, I only have 400$ a year to spend on internet with my credit card, so I have to be very careful with my budget. Here's my plan...I'll buy the following:-The cheapest SKX171K (the one with rubber strap) = 188$-A black SKX007 bezel = 56$-A 22mm Seiko SNA029-bracelet = 39$-A 22mm Seiko SBBN007-bracelet WITH WET SUIT EXTENSION = 83$I've read somewhere on the net that the SNA029 bracelet fits perfectly on the SKX models so I want to use it for this project. A Black Duck Custom winder
I've had a project in the back of my head for a while now and it's finally coming to the front. I've found that I would like a watch winder but can't seem to save for one while saving for more wrist candy and better wrist candy. Ive decided to build one. That's right build one. I've got a few proto-type pieces already made and most of this will be made from found objects or things I was going to get rid of.Here are a couple of my garden trains thataren't exactly up to the task anymore. The above 4-6-0 locomotive and matching tender below have been getting canabalized to make other trains work and will donate more parts to this project.This combine passenger/mailcar will become a rail-side diner once the last truck is removed and donated to the winder project.This little logging engine has also made it's last run and will most likely be part of the diner once the motor and a few gears have been donated.This piece if 1-1/2" ID PVC pipe seems to be a perfect candidate to hold the watch in

Best source for dating your Omega?
Reason I ask is I've looked at two different sites, and both show different approx' manufacture dates for the same serial number, and they're about 5 years apart! Serial is 77******, and Roman Hartmann dates it as 2000/2001, while an austrailian site - clockmaker.au/rolex_serial_numbers.html - dates it as 2005/2006... Any idea as to who is correct. Watch is a Speedmaster Pro.
