There is a used speedy pro (3570.50) at a reliable used-and-estate jewellery store near me. (The omegas are just about the lowest priced watches in the store. Crazy!) They have a couple of watchmakers working there, and do good service work. I'm relatively confident they have the skill and diligence to make sure it's not a fake. It's only a few years old, on the original bracelet. Excellent condition. The price is CAD $2,200 (About USD $1920).So I'm trying to decide if I should take the plunge, since this appears to be such a good deal. Or should I wait and pay almost twice as much to buy it new? That seems ridiculous, except that buying new seems "safer" somehow. So what do you say? How "safe" is it to buy from reputable used dealers versus new? Should the fact that it's used scare me? Or would I be stupid to let the deal go by?
I have an Omega SMP 2538.20 (Great white) and was comparing the second hand sweep to my brother's Rolex Sub ND. Though they both have the same bph of 28,800 I couldn't help but notice that the sweep on the Rolex was smoother than the Omega. I can count the 8 ticks per second on both watches, but can't figure out why the jump is more noticeable on the OmegaAny clue?
Hey guys,I am considering buying a PP 5164 Travel Time and the watch in question is approximately 18 months old. I am wondering what the service intervals are on a watch like this. For my Rolex watches I push the service intervals out to around 7-8 years (some as far as 10) and I have never had any issues. Because the PP is a completely different animal, I am wondering if I am going to need to send this particular watch away 2-3 years after I buy it because it is mint preowned.Another question I have is about PP service in general. I have owned a couple APs and they have excellent customer service and fairly quick service turnaround times. It seems that the consensus on PP is that service is glacially slow and fairly expensive. Is warranty work quicker? Do most owners just accept this fact as part of the ownership experience? The last thing I want to do is buy this Patek, get two years wear out of it and then have to send it away for an 8 month service.Any insight is greatly appreciated!
Hey Guys ....Hope everyone in this GREAT place doing good!.Ok, first on all I love the shape of PP 5101G & the amazing combo between the blue & silver.I even was thinking to get the similar ref 5124G but honestly a HUGE difference with each detail in this beautiful piece. Finally, I pulled the trigger and go ahead for the beautiful 5101G ...When it was VIRGIN along with 2 horses ..At home back yard ...Some wrist shots ...Look at this beautiful blue ...And finally in my favorite burger :-) ....THANKS GOD!. It was a dream came true ...
