Christiaan Van Der Klaauw Planetarium Watch Available On James List
I was in Basel, Switzerland sitting in a van and I saw a man wearing what looked rather familiar. There on his wrist was a Christiaan Van Der Klaauw Planetarium. Of course, it makes total sense for the man to be strutting his stuff at Baselworld, but how rare is it for someone to have one of these? Pretty rare actually. The luxury watch done in an old world style displays the signature ultra complexity that Christian Van Der Klaauw is know for. I know of no other watch with a full planetarium on the dial. I talked to the man for a second to compliment him on the piece. You just don't see stuff like that very often.In fact, Christiaan van der Klaauw (CVDK) pretty much only makes "astronomical watches." The Planetarium has the smallest such complication in the world on the dial. Even before clocks existed, there were astrological devices meant to track the heavens. I have been intrigued by his watch, for a while now.Would some member, please explain to me how the timezone element of the watch works??Do you depress the button at the 10 o'clock position and the move the hour hand on.until it is aligned to the city that you require.Many thanks

Alright guys....so what's your favorite watch movement?It's hard for me to pin down just one....It may not be the prettiest movement out there, but the Rolex 3135 is tough to beat for a three-hand work horse movement:I hold the ETA 2892 based Omega 1120 movement in nearly as high regard, and have to admit it's even easier on the eyes:What say you?

Strap Change Advice
I recently acquired a 5627A-001 and am interested in trying different straps with the watch. It comes with two strap and I am also interested in trying out one of the Rubber B straps for it. I read some postings about the difficulty in changing the straps because there is a screw that needs to be removed that retains the pin-bar at both both lugs and also one for the deployant clasp.Does anyone happen to know the correct size or flat head screw driver that fits these retaining screw heads?Would it be wiser to just take it to an AD and have them swap out the strap for me? It would seem that if I have the correct tool, it should be simple enough. Clearly, I would prefer to not mark up my watch trying out different straps, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Incoming 2018!
I didn't know I would have a new years incoming this soon, but the opportunity came and had to take it.I have been travelling overseas long-term for quite a bit, and the manager of one of the ADs I've stopped by frequently for friendly chats called to ask whether I was interested in a blue dial SS SkyD. I was pretty shocked given how much high demand and short supply there is in Asia, that this AD decided to allocate one for me. I guess knowledge and candor goes a long way in certain situations. I'm assuming the watches I rotated during my visits, and some freebie literature I dropped off for the manager didn't hurt as well I was skeptical on the 42mm diameter and case thickness, but this piece feels rock solid on the wrist. It's my first blue sunburst dial and I simply couldn't resist the temptation. My baby daughter even approved as her eyes glittered upon gazing into that dial It's been a while since I have played around with the SkyD movement, and it felt a lot more intuitive
