Anyone catch the latest WATCHTIME three-way comparison with Rolex, IWC, and Panerai?
I haven't ready the article yet (the magazine was waiting for me last night when I returned from Tactical Training Tuesday). I flipped through it quickly and noted that the Rolex Air King they compared to similar "simple" models from IWC and Panerai (kinda wondered why they went with two Richmont brands against Rolex) out-scored the competition. Has anyone else seen the article yet?

Finally - I Got my Speedy Pro
Yes after about a year of waiting I finally picked up a Speedy Pro. Thanks to Fr John for his incredible paitence in answering my many queries and reviewing countless auctions. I eventually picked one up of Neil at Chronomaster. 4 months old in new condition with box and papers and remainder of 2 year warranty and a great price. Nice easy transaction. When I first joined this site about 3.5 years ago I was obsessed by the PO. Eventually I got one and I still love it. I never really understood the fuss about the Speedy. But as time went on I started to notice it on others and SPV started. Before I knew it I needed one. The watch is a work of art, A lot different than the PO but great in its own way. The Hesalite crystal is amazing and gives the face a unique look. In the reflection it looks like it is black in colour and the way it distorts the dial is excellent. This one turned into a project. I really like this dial, so I jumped on a listing with a blurry pictures and won it for $35, or so. Sometimes I find you get great deals with the photography is poor. In this case, not so much. The case was a mess, including a cut into the case to, I guess remove the case back. Why they would do that when the case screws off...The crystal was cracked, but at least the dial and movement were good. Fortunately, a few days later, I saw a case, dial, and crystal for my watch and I was back in business.Spent the evening swapping out the movement and doing a bit of polishing and it turned out fairly nice. The case is 10K gold filled. Here's the lume shot. I know it does not look like much, but this stuff, in person shines nicely and has a good staying power.

Buying AP origins Jamaica
Guys - I am considering buying a previous owned AP Panda which originates from Jamaica. Watch was originally purchased Nov 2012 and appears to have all paperwork and guarantees appropriately stamped and the retailer checks back to 'Jewels in Paradise' who are listed as an AP authorised dealer.My questions are : Is a Nov 2012 watch likely to be a good or bad one Ser no H75XXXXAnything I need to look out for apart from the obvious that it is genuine ? Going to have to sell my Rolex Daytona and an Omega 8500 to fund so I am keen to cover all bases.Finally, any issues with provenance / warranty coming from Jamaica Thanks in advance

Dream achieved - Complicated Patek Philippe in Gold
Hello All,Thank you so much for the kind words and advice.After much thought and consideration I have purchased my new watch (new to me that is as it came from a vintage watch dealer).It is the fantastic Patek Philippe 5035 in Yellow Gold.I just could not pass up an Annual Calendar for a first Patek. I am so proud to have a complicated piece on my wrist.I also love the 24 hour display and the Romans sealed the deal.The watch was built around the 315 movement - not just a conversion to fashion like the 5146 which is simply a 5036 with added size (for no good reason that I can see). 37mm for a conservative dress watch is a great size!If I wanted a huge watch I would have bought an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Off-shore!I think the term traditional size fits the 37mm size. Infact the current model 5140 Perpetual Calendar is around this size also.I have seen articles on the net stating the 5035 has great investment potential. In fact a 5035 sold for more money than a 3940 in New York last
