Vintage technology appeals to me. A tuning fork watch movement is at once both an impressive technological feat and archaic design. The movement technology might be obsolete but it resulted in the development of fascinating calibers and advancement in timekeeping precession, a real-world product of someone¡¯s imagination. A while back I picked up what I thought was a good looking ¡°C¡± case IWC ¡°Electronic.¡± While the electronic models are generally far less collectible than more finely finished mechanical models, I still thought it would be nice to get some of the information on these watches in one place since it¡¯s generally kind of scattered and I don¡¯t recall seeing many (any?) similar watches posted on this site. Here¡¯s my Electronic, which I've posted on the site before:The Electronics were manufactured only during the early 1970s with total production of just around 30,000 pieces. Hi everyone,I wondered of you could all help me with something?Firstly I think it's important to admit that when I start a thread here I often replicate the same thread on one or two other forums in order to garner more opinion. On this occasion I am not doing so because any topic surrounding ETA is so incendiary that I can only trust this to a forum that won't get embroiled in ETA "hating" and fan boys of one description or another. In other words - as sycophantic as this might sound - I trust I'll get some unbiased and serious answers on here.My question is around the ethics of ETA or the accuracy of them (I have no issue on that score - if other readers do then that's up to them and it is not the point of this thread). My query is around watches with the same ETA movement by different manufacturers. Let's take the Valjoux 7750 Movement. I have an IWC Portuguese Chronograph that I purchased a few years ago. This has the Valjoux 7750 Movement which is still remarkably accurate after 5
Hi, All.I am trying to decide between a PAM 320 and a Big Pilot. Probably prefer the BP, but the cost difference is making me lean toward the PAM. What are the prevailing thoughts on the PAM 320 these days? Also, how does $6,960 BNIB sound as a price...that is 20% off.
I've rounded it down to either white or blue what are your thoughts... I'm leaning towards the white but yet the blue stands out nicely as well
