A New Flagship: The Breitling Chronomat 01 Limited Edition
Just in time for the holidays, Breitling introduces a new flagship, the Chronomat 01 Limited Edition. At Basel 2009, Breitling debuted the Chronomat 01 with the Caliber 01 manufacture movement, developed and produced at the brand’s workshops in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Now Breitling ups the ante with limited steel and red gold versions. Find prices and wallpaper inside.The Chronomat 01 Limited Edition will be produced in a series 2,000 pieces in steel and 200 in red gold, both on bracelets, each piece with its individual number engraved on the side of the case at 9 o¡¯clock. The case is also distinguished by subtle contrasted finishing ¨C satin-brushed on the top and polished on the sides. Both the steel and gold versions feature a black dial adorned with applied hour-markers. Unlike the standard Chronomat 01 models which have solid casebacks, the Limited Edition models offer transparent sapphire crystal casebacks, providing optimal views of the in-house chronograph movement.The Chronoma

Hamilton Electric Movements: Would you avoid a 500?
I'm looking hard at vintage Electrics, and I understand there are significant differences between the 500, 500A and 505. According to Rene's Rondeau's site, the 505 movement is a definite improvement over the 500 easier to adjust, more reliable and sturdy, etc.Given the small number of artisans who can service these movements (and if you could only own one nice vintage Hamilton Electric), is the difference between the two movements enough to make you avoid buying a 500/A and wait for at 505?Thanks!Bob

Grail Ship Finally Sails In
As you know the Zenith El Primero has been on my hit list for quite some time. For various reasons I didn't pull the trigger. Finally I have my retirement and grail watch in one. Its a bit anti-climatic following Donut's Indies but I'm ecstatic anyway. This will even make me learn to take better pics Next year is the Calatrava and I won't have to buy anymore watches
