Cartier Cartier 49351 wrist watches news:
Every watch guy's dream is to go up into his grandparents' attic, open up a dust covered shoe box, and discover an unmolested horological masterpiece. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen. And that is exactly what happened here with what could easily be described as a mega watch - a Patek Philippe Reference 1436 Split-Seconds Chronograph Retailed By Tiffany & Co. in NYC dating to 1960. And, what makes this particular piece so special is that it is literally untouched and unmodified in any way. It comes with the original crystal, strap, and buckle, and the thing hadn't even been serviced!Made in 1960 and sold by Tiffany's NYC in 1961, it doesn't get much cooler than a vintage Patek split-seconds chronograph. There is something so masculine about the split complication, and to see it on such a refined piece like a 1960s Patek is just a wonderful juxtaposition. The estimate on this piece is $200,000-$300,000, which to us, considering the condition, se
Can anybody please tell me what you would pay for an antique Hamilton pocket watch (description below)? I would like to bargain for it with the owner and I definitely want to make sure it¡¯s worth it. It¡¯s going to be a gift for a watch connoisseur, would you recommend this type of watch for someone who is a watch enthusiast? It's quite pretty. Thank you so much in advance for your help¡Description: Large antique Hamilton Yellow Gold pocket watch in very nice condition. It is triple signed and estimated between 85 and 90 years old. The genuine antique beveled "glass" lens looks great with no chips, cracks or visible scratches. The high quality Hamilton swing out 25 year gold filled case is very nice dings dents or brassing. All alignments for covers to movement are proper and the covers snap together tightly. The front cover does not open past 90 degrees and the hinge is nice and tight. The high precision 17 jewel movement is very ornate. It looks nice and clean and starts running as s
Some time ago I decided I wanted a tool watch. I did get a Casio ProTrek which is a wonderful watch and I have used it quite a bit actually. However I still wanted something mechanical. Of course there are many possibilities and options, some of which very espensive. I wanted something large but not overly large. My first choices were the marathon JSAR and/or the Ecozilla. The JSAR unfortunately was way over my budget and is also Quartz. The Ecozilla was also quartz and could not find a good piece for the price I wanted. Either one of these would have required additional funds for the conversion from quartz to mechanical which put the price even more out of reach for my meager budget. Several other options were gone through but in the end I decided that for me a good tool watch had to be solid, practical, legible and reliable. The whole package also needed to be economical. When I saw the black dialed Seiko Divers "starfish" with the huge black bezel and humongous white marke
yes, i know what you're thinking! this must be in the wrong forum, if not the wrong website!!! but seriously, did you know that fashion designers charge 10 to 12 times the material [edit] value of their handbags? makes me wonder just how big this over-valuation is on certain high end watches???
I have been wanting to buy this clasp for two years now but haven't bc of the price, but I just bit the bullet!! It is being shipped now, the pics below are off the web but I'll post my own once the clasp is in. I want to give a shout out to Jim at Continental Jewelers in DC. He is Fr. John's contact and the guy is an absolute pleasure to do business with, I highly recommend him to anyone.
