Ok... here is a good one in the Horological Archives...I am cruising around looking for interesting stuff and this little onepops up... HUH?An Elgin CAR!?!Turns out to be a really cool little story (Below)So of course I HAVE to find the Stock certificate from the company...Got one!The company I bought the stock certificate from had this information on it's website from 2 sources (wiki and OldCompany.com)ELGIN ¡ª Argo, Illinois¡ª (1916-1923), Indianapolis, Indiana ¡ª (1923 - 1924) ¡ª"The Car of the Hour" and "Built like a Watch" were scarcely subtle reminders that several executives of the famed Illinois company producing clocks and timepieces had decided to enter the automotive arena. They did this by taking over the defunct New Era Motor Car Company of Joliet and moving it part and parcel to Argo. There a 210,000-square foot factory awaited on 13 acres of land "to provide for future expansion."The Elgin was a conventional car that performed exceedingly well in Midwest endurance contests,

Breitling Bentley Mark IV
Hey! New to the board. Wanted to stop by and introduce my Breitling Bentley Mark IV. I was captivated by it from the moment I saw it.However the watch has let a troubled life. The day after the 2 year am warrantee expired it started running fast. 4-5 minutes gained each day. Breitling honored the warrantee and conducted a service. For the next 2 years (see a pattern yet) the watches worked fine but then started gaining 4-5 minutes a day and sung quickly when taken off. Again off to Breitling where I was charged $450 for a service.Another 2 years later the watch just stopped while I was wearing it. Not good. So I took it back to Tourneau who sent it to Breitling. Apparently there was a lot of back and forth, Breitling sent the watch back no less than 4 times. Then when it was tested at Tourneau it didn't meet specs so back to Europe. For nearly 6 months it was back and forth. Was beginning to wonder if they were just going to give up and give me a new one.Two years after
