Zenith Captain Chronograph 03.2110.400--some photos
By way of introducing myself to this forum, I will post some pictures of my new Captain Chronograph, which is actually a 2010 model that I bought from an AD that was losing its dealership with Zenith. I have been posting for the last few months on WUS, but noticed that some of the most useful posts in the archives were from banned members. Trying to find out why they were banned led me here. So, I thought I'd introduce myself before I get banned from WUS, just to save time when that event comes to pass. I posted these pictures there as well, but there are some Zenith aficionados here who might like to see them. The Captain is an homage to the Captain line offered by Zenith starting right about the time they bought the Martel Watch Company. The Captain was a line of automatic dress watches intended for less sporty occasions than other Zeniths of that era. Wicked step-grandmother looking for Christmas gift
I've decided to create a little trouble in step-daughter's house, getting her twin daughters started down the road to WIS-dom. They're 13, mostly into soccer, but the g-shock line is just leaving me cold. I'm seeing some gorgeous choices on Amazon but they're Akribos and they don't even get thumbs up from the civilians reviewing them on Amazon, let alone my esteemed colleagues on WTF.As dedicated as I am to the cause of mechanicals everywhere, I'm afraid this is one instance in which the battery is the way to go. I am seriously looking at a couple of Invictas, which seem to offer the most for the money for a first watch (spiffy subdials and the lot). Here's the but: has anybody run into trouble replacing the "nonstandard" batteries described in the specs for all of these?Also, one of my choices describes a "screw down crown and pushers" which sounds like good news and bad news. With a quartz watch, the screw down crown sounds perfect, since ideally it would only be disturbed a couple o

Hi all. This is my first post to the Forum (I am active on VRF).I just got my first Patek - a white gold 3445 Calatrava. I'm really excited, as I had never considered an auto/date model, but I love the dimensions of this watch.It come from a local estate and I believe that they were the original purchasers.It came on, what I think may be a rare factory 18k brick bracelet. I've ordered Archive papers and am curious to see if the bracelet is mentioned.Any information on the bracelet would be much appreciated.Thanks,Chris
