Cartier W31077U2 wrist watches news:
Few watches have as storied a history as the Carrera, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year alongside the Rolex Daytona. While the Carrera has definitely gone through many revisions over the years, the same DNA is still there from the beginning. We decided to take the current Carrera, housing TAG Heuer's Calibre 1887 movement, for a spin, and here we give you a look at the birth of Carrera, the intricacies of the Calibre 1887 movement, and what is was like to wear this modern Carrera for a week. The Birth Of The Carrera 1 OF 40 The Carrera 1887 The Heuer Carrera was first launched in 1963, though for decades it was believed to have not been unveiled until 1964. This was long before sport chronograph watches had any mainstream popularity in the United States (and it took the Viceroy Autavia to turn this around in 1972), and Heuer was mainly known as a producer of stopwatches for race car drivers. Green Milgauss! It is now mine! Pics to come, tomorrow.Things I've noticed. It doesn't seem to have the Rolex crown on the crystalIt didn't come with "certified chronometer" papers like my Explorer II did back in 97. It came with two small books in a cardboard sleeve and a card. I got to peel all the stickers off myself!
Time for a service of the movement.Update will follow.
I'm still learning about Rolex (the deeper you go, the more you get lost) and have found I don't like the latest generation of Rolexes. I've been looking for something reasonable that had a vintage vibe to it. Ideally a 5513 but the ones with nice Patina seem to go for too much. I started looking at 1680 as I like the date wheel with the open 6 and 9. I came across this 16800 that has a nice dark patina to the markers and a ghosted bezel.Could you tell me if there's anything wrong with the watch and the price? So I know what to look for next time. Also, would you avoid purchasing from an international seller? And will I get hit with customs if I purchase internationally? chrono24 won't give me the links for the pics so I'll just provide the link to the watch I'm looking at - https://.chrono24/rolex/subma...-id7955375.htm
Well almost, here¡¯s my new GMT 116719 BLRO alongside my Daytona 116509:
