Timex in America
If I remember correctly, my first watch was a Timex when I was around 9 or 10. So we are looking at the late 1950's. I assume they were made in America at this time. Does anyone collect Timex from this era?? Pics? Maybe I can spot my first watch.

I don't understand the buy and flip mindset
Now granted I have only been collecting watches for just over a year and I have mostly Lumtecs, a couple Stolas, and a few other assorted brands.I constantly see people selling their watches, often stating that they need the funds to purchase another watch. I guess if you go a whole year without wearing a watch and you can get money for it, why not? But I am not in that spot yet and I don't see it developing. I usually wear all my watches within a three month period, some more than others. Today I have on my WTF LE Lumtec M62.It just seems to me some watch collectors have a fickle streak, and I don't understand it, because it is costly to always be buying new watches and flipping them off used.I guess if you buy used too, it's a trade off. I am not into the used market myself, too many new models that I like coming out.So help me understand ???

Boutiques vs. ADs
Hi,Forgive me but I don't understand something. Hoping you all can clarify?I was always under the impression that an AD is something like Tourneau or Mayors Jewelers (both of which I have visited locations of.) Several brands such as Rolex, Panerai, IWC, Chopard, Breitling, Tudor, etc under one roof.With a boutique being set up BY the brand to sell only that particular brand?!For instance - AP in NYC on 57th, and the Bal Harbour MIA location. 806 AOPA Navitimer Help
Hey I hope all is well. I had a question for you guys. I just bought this navi 806. It had a dial and hand change in the 60s I have the original dial but not sure it I can be paired. I'm thinking of ordering this chrono hand and slide rule. Does anyone know, 1. How hard will it be to have a watchmaker do the install? 2. Does this hand and sliderule match this reference? I believe the original dial is early 60s and the current dial is late 60s. I haven't seen this chrono hand on another 806 nor the red sliderule. Thanks!Here's the original dial.
