Here is what you need to know about them.The new Omega Speedmaster Mark II is based on a model released in 1969, the same year that astronauts wore Omega Speedmaster Professional watches on the surface of the moon, forever earning that model the nickname “Moonwatch.” The original Speedmaster Mark II contained the same hand-wound mechanical caliber that powered the Moonwatch, Omega’s Caliber 861. Seamaster recommendations
Hi,Long-time listener, first time caller here :)I'm looking for a watch I can surf and fly with (surfing has killed every single watch I ever had, though they none of them were in the class of the Omega). So far, the Seamaster GMT (2234.50) seems like the ticket - it has Zulu time, and great water resistance.I do like the innards of the GMT Professional a lot more (2535.80), but am not a big fan of the skeleton hands. After checking it out in a store, it seemed pretty hard to read in the dark.Are there other watches I am missing? Perhaps some discontinued models I should look into?On a side note, I paid a visit to an authorized dealer here in SF today, and talked them down to a 20% discount on the 2234.50. Add over 8% of CA tax, and it doesn't seem like that good of a deal...All feedback appreciated, and thanks in advance,Vee

First AP. Need advice on purchase.
Hello everyone I'm looking to buy my first AP (Royal oak SS 41mm 15400) here at the AD in Hawaii. I've always loved this watch, but wasn't planning to purchase it on my trip. I happened to come across the AP store at the T Galleria, and they offered me 10% off, and since it's duty and tax free I thought this might be a good deal. I'm from Canada where we typically have 13% tax as well. I cannot find the MSRP pricing on this in canada, and I'm also looking for advice on whether 10% off is good or not. Daytona Dilemna: To Buy or not to Buy
I'm an Audemars Piguet fan but I've become enamored with the ceramic Daytona with a black face. I currently have 2 AP's in my collection and nothing else:1) AP 15400 with a blue face in steel 2) AP 15407 openworked in steelTo my surprise, one of the AD's that I love called me and indicated they have a white Daytona available if I want it. I just got into watches and I'm a collector and not a reseller. I'm not looking to flip this watch for a profit and I would much rather it go to someone who will enjoy it if I won't wear it. My 5 watches that I planned to have before my collection is complete:1) AP 15400 with a blue face in steel 2) AP 15407 openworked in steel3) Rolex Daytona Ceramic Black Face in steel4) Patek 5980 blue face in steel5) Patek 5524 blue face, white gold, on brown leather strapThe million dollar question, do I buy the ceramic Daytona with the white face or not? This is not a large AD and they've only ever got 1 black face Daytona so I don't know even if I wait if anoth
