Hello all,I came across this watch and would like to know if anyone can give me a little info on it. Is 'Longine' a 'Longines' forgery, a different company or something else. Sorry that the pictures aren't that very good, the crystal is fairly scratched. At the top of the face is written 'longine 213 Electra' and at the bottom is written 'LIFETIME MAINSPRING'. The top stem rotates the outer ring with names of different world cities (time zones), the middle stem sets the time and date and winds the watch and the bottom stem rotates the the second ring. It is a fairly substantial watch weighing 87.3 grams (including band) and measuring 4.5 cm across at the crown and 12 mm thick. The watch winds and runs. Thanks in advance,Brucewatch 1.jpgwatch 2.jpgwatch 3.jpg
Well, after a few months of deliberation - I completely did the unexpected! A little back story here... For a while now, I've been looking at the Rolex Explorer II (42mm) and finally decided it was time to pick it up.I walked into my local AD, and had the Explorer II on my wrist ready to go. Something seemed off to me, it just wasn't sitting right on my wrist. So I waltzed over to the Breitling section, and tried on the Navitimer - and it just felt perfect to me. 24 Hours in, absolutely loving my purchase. This isn't to say I won't pick up a Rolex down the road - but there was something about this watch that I just had to have! What do you guys think?
Don¡¯t know about everyone else - but I am tired of walking in ADs all around the world (especially UK & Europe) to find they have literally zero models that I would be interested in. Normally racks on racks of diamond DJ & DD - then if you want a SS model, you have to get to the back of the line , make a commitment (financial or AD relationship) and hope that you like the watch when it turns up 12 months later... So here is the question - should the AD have ¡®display only¡¯ models available for us to try on in store , so we can get a good impression of the watch before placing an order?? I have some ¡®high end¡¯ sports cars which often have 1-2 year waiting lists on them - but at least I can go sit in them in the dealership (if not actually get to drive) before i placed the order! Interesting to hear people¡¯s thoughts ... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
