Cartier W1556229 wrist watches news:
I have a 1960's era Seamaster. Runs perfectly, but probably not serviced in 30 years. Just got a quote from my local clock/watch store for $500 to have it serviced. Said it has rust in it, a part is broken, and it needs a new crystal. From what I've learned on this forum, I don't think the watch is even worth anything near $500. Question is: it really does runs great. Do I just keep wearing it until it falls apart or do I sell it (maybe for parts), buy something else with whatever proceeds I get? (I can't afford to pay $500 to get it serviced.) Thanks in advance!

Hey guys!Late last night I decided to take a little road trip on Saturday morning up to Elgin, Illinois to see the sights. I have not been up there in almost two years so I was over due for the trip. It's not all that far from my house, 160 miles round trip. Tiffany was going to come with but she got called in to work for a flight so I just went solo. It started to rain VERY hard about half way up so the trip took a bit longer than it should have. Once I pulled into Elgin I went straight to the Observatory to take some pictures but I wound up just sitting in the car for over an hour because the rain would just NOT let up! It was coming down in buckets! It finally let up so I snapped some shots of the street signs that bear the names of important Elgin National Watch Company personnel. This is the Observatory. This is the memorial sign that stands where the main factory building was located. My 1918 Elgin Pershing finally went home for a visit after 93 years.Yes baby, you were born here !
Hi,I picked up a new 26320 from an AP boutique this weekend, and I've noticed that the chronograph seconds hand is running faster than the running seconds at 6 o'clock. After 30 minutes of running the chronograph, the chrono hand has gained 5 seconds over the running seconds hand. This time was gained evenly over the 30 minute period.Has anyone seen this before? Thanks!
Last week I met with a great friend to see his new FC Diver. What a beauty under natural light! Enjoy the pics. Find the rest of the pics here.
