Cartier w20072x7 wrist watches news:
I have been considering my first "real" luxury purchase, and after trying on several PP, IWC, Jaeger and VC I keep coming back to the clean simplicity of the PP 5123r. Question: beyond personal taste issues (everyone likes different things) is there any reason you can think of for me NOT to purchase this particular watch?
Obviously I am new here - even to lurking, but thought I would sign up anyhow. About a week ago, I purchased my first high(er) end watch, a Breitling Superocean Heritage. I had a few questions about it and thought you all could help - I bought this on vacation kind on impulse after planning on getting another Movado - the idea turned to Rolex or Breitling real quick.I really liked the color of the watch, but did not care for the leather band that was on it (it made the watch really monotone with the copper face, bezel, and brown leather band) and I was not a fan of the metal bracelets that were made for this particular model. It was a little to off-the-wall for me. The two salesmen took a bracelet off of another watch and put it on the watch - I am not familiar with the model that it was taken from but it says "Breitling for Bentley" on it, is polished metal, and has kind of angular cut links. Is this a pretty common thing to do? Obviously I had to fork out extra to get the brace
My fourth Cushion Form (not counting the very first Hamilton which I bought in my fledgling days on eBay in 1998, and which I sold some time ago), this just arrived today. It is in very nice original condition (except for newer glass crystal), and sports the special #05 raised gold numerals and inlaid enamel dial manufactured for Hamilton by Fluckiger of Switzerland. It dates to 1929 by the movement SN. Many thanks to Tom Diss for the copy of the original dial diagram, which I've included here (and some may have seen before). Case and case back have matching numbers:I hope it's had a movement service since 1966! It joins these others in the collection:These 2 wgf:This last solid green 14K:
Who swims or bathes with their apro on ??I'm not talking off shores here just royal oaks!I was worried if I could trust the designation given that often water resistance is measures in static pressure not dynamic. Ie. the pressure exerted on the watch case while swimming front crawl is thought to be equivalent to 70m static pressure. Hence rolex oysters 100m being termed swim proofAnyway- i wrote to AP with my query and they confirmed swimming and showering is fine
So... My understanding is that the ceragold refers to the bezel only...Is this correct?I was hoping that it would be some kind of gold pvd coating on the case that would make it scratch resistant....I guess not.Seems like Ceragold is just a fancier name, like liquid metal...Still a gorgeous watch...but not as exciting as the name would suggest....Rolex has been blending precious metals and ceramic bezeks for over 7 years now...
