After a couple of years of declining health, mom passed away last night at appx 12:37am. She has been in hospice for about the past month or so. A multitude of issues, collapsing spine, pnemonia, c-diff (SP?), you get the picture. Mom was born in Milwaukee in 1927. Met Dad at Marquette when he returned from WW2. Both finished their degrees, got married, and moved to Cleveland in 1949. They raised three kids and had successful careers. Mom not only could make the bacon, but cook it too!! Visited mom for the last tome yesterday afternoon, dropped off a CD player with some CD's containing Church hymns. My older sister said that mom seemed to enjoy listening too them her last few hours. Since we all know Rolex MSRP pricing is now largely irrelevant worldwide due to supply / demand constraints on highly popular models and AD 'situations', how much would you pay for this new release in white gold? How much if it was available in SS?
Well here's the story. I live in North Dakota and there isn't a single AD in the entire state. Back in September/October I started to get the itch for a new watch and decided it would be the 116610LV. I've bought a few watches from TS's on this forum but for this one I wanted to buy from an AD and not pay over MSRP. So i started calling around. Closest AD is in Billings, MT +/-4 hour drive and they did not have one and wait list was 5-6 people deep already. Tried a few in the Denver area +/- 9 hour drive, no luck. Minneapolis, same story. Then I decided to try the Indianapolis area. I had two trips planned to go to Indy for Colts games, October and December. Didn't get anywhere with the first couple AD's, then I found one that said they had just sold this particular watch and they had a wait list of 4 people but if I were to put a deposit down that day I'd be moved to the top of the list. I did exactly that putting down 30% in early October. Sales rep said he was expecting
