Cartier WH100251 wrist watches news:
We often get emails asking us for watch recommendations on a budget. When someone asks us to point them in the direction of a good automatic under $300 or a nice dress auto under $500, Orient is always on the top of the list. We've reviewed them many times now and the conclusions are always the same, great watch for the money. But, honestly, that downplays them a bit. Sure, they aren't perfect watches, but they offer quality in-house movements (which is easy to forget given their prices) with complications and often nice designs. While we've looked at sport and military models, larger modern designs and even some unique and quirky versions, the Orient watches that tend to surprise and enchant us the most are their various dress models. Simple, elegant and often with a vintage undertone, their dress watches are in a class of their own in the price range. In fact, for mechanicals, it's hard to think of a strong competitor. The Orient Curator, which is a fairly new dress offering from the b
I got something VERY cool in the mail today! The entire volume of the 1955 Elgin inner-company magazine called "The Watch World". It seems that this was a magazine that was given to all Elgin employees that covered a very wide range of topics such as production, concept watches, company bowling league stats, updates on the Elgin company basketball team "The Lord Elgins", new machinery, employee updates, profit sharing and so on......If you are wondering why there are only 11 in the pictures June & July were bunched into one single issue. The August 1955 issue is especially interesting! It previews the "direct read" Lord Elgin that came to market on September 1, 1955. It hits on solar watches, the memory watch, telephone watches, the day-dream watch and depth gauge watches for the skin diver! It also shows "concept watches" some of which never even made it to market! Do you know that Elgin had an on site Dentist at their main factory for their employees? They were giving pensions to
I can rarely afford Hamiltons, but last year I managed to get my hands on 3 of them .......and my particular favorite............who knows? maybe this season, I'll be able to move up to more of them .....they really are such fabulous watches .......
Ok sorry if this thread as already been done and I hope it's not rude or to personal. But I would like to know when ,where, and how much you paid for your first automatic watch. I'll start even though I own more Invicta watchesmy first automatic watch was my Timex automatic with a power reserve, I would have bought an automatic Invicta but there was'nt any at the time that I liked, I bought it at JCPenny, in June2006, and I had paid around $112.00.
Please advise where I can get this piece in HK, will be traveling there and like to buy one for my birthday.Do they offer discount for this piece? If they do, how much discount usually? Thanks.
