Seiko Kinetic Capacitor Replacement
My first "decent" watch was this Seiko Kinetic Watch. It dates to late 90's. The old capacitor failed years ago and would no longer hold a charge. I decided that it was time to get her running again. Order Seiko Replacement parts 30235MZ for my Seiko calibre 5M43 movement and attempted to repair it myself. The process was pretty straight forward and only took about 10-15 mins.Tools I used:2 prong case wrench3/16" Slotted micro screwdriverTweezersSpring Bar toolI started with detaching the bracelet from the claspShot of the movement prior to the repairNext I opened the case back with the case back wrench. I taped the prongs as to not scratch the case back. I always thought this movement was copper colored...till I removed the case back.. Tinted exhibition case back!!Most of the directions I have read, they remove the rotor and winding gear. I was able to remove the parts without removing it and it speeded up the repair.I only had to remove the two TINY screws holding in the old capac

Tried some new heavyweights
Wanted to share a couple of pics The yellow gold and blue dial go together extremely well. The blue is very rich and combined with the YG and ceramic pushers.. winner! Now... this thing is a MONSTER! The heaviest watch I've ever put on. Calling it a 'brick' is an understatement. Dial is interesting. I'll let you guys decide.

Still trying to get to the bottom of this. So today we have a 5575 going for $ 89 000. That means that the Seller actually received net $ 57000 So why dont Sellers just be more realistic on Chrono and ask this figure instead of the $ 100 + that i see everywhere. Just struggling to understand the disconnect in the market.

Costly Mistakes Made While On AD Waitlist
Got myself onto my first Rolex list a few months ago for a watch I'd been studying for months. The white sky-dweller. I wanted THAT watch. Gave them a 50% downpayment and waited. This did not scratch my want-a-watch itch. So I kept looking. Bought myself a Bluesy, at a nice discount. If I had stopped here, I would have been okay. It was a good price a quite liked it.
